FIFA released this Thursday, November 13, 2025, in Zurich, Switzerland, the list of nominees for the Puskás and Marta awards, which recognize the most beautiful goals of the season in men’s and women’s football. Three Brazilians are among the competitors: Alerrandro, currently at CSKA Moscow and ex-Vitória, Lucas Ribeiro, from Mamelodi Sundowns, and Marta, from Orlando Pride. The trophies will be awarded at The Best 2025 ceremony.
The prizes consider bids that occurred between December 2024 and August 2025, approximately. Voting takes place online on the FIFA website until a date to be confirmed. The winners are chosen by votes from fans, journalists and team captains.

Featured Brazilian goals
Alerrandro scored the candidate’s goal in a match for Vitória against Cruzeiro, in the Brasileirão. The attacker executed a bicycleentrance to the area and covered the goalkeeper in the 28th minute of the first half.
The game ended in a 2-2 draw. Alerrandro later transferred to CSKA Moscow.
Lucas Ribeiro scored his shot at the Club World Cup, in June 2025. He started from midfield, dribbled past two defenders and finished past the Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper.
Marta’s bid details
Marta competes for the goal scored on November 17, 2024, for the Orlando Pride against the Kansas City Current, in the NWSL. The player started the play in midfield and advanced with the ball.
She performed a dribble that left two markers on the floor. He then took the goalkeeper out of the game and finished under pressure.
Orlando Pride advanced to the final of the competition with the goal. Marta is competing for the award that honors her career for the ninth time.
Other Puskás nominees
The men’s list has 11 names in total. Arsenal’s Declan Rice competes for a goal against Real Madrid in the Champions League.
Lamine Yamal, from Barcelona, enters the dispute with a move against Espanyol. Players from different leagues, such as Indonesia and Egypt, are also present.
Competitors for the Marta award
In the female category, there are 11 nominees. Manchester City’s Khadija Shaw competes with a goal against Hammarby.
Vivianne Miedema, from the national teamDutch, competes for submission against Wales. Athletes from teams such as Australia and North Korea complete the list.
FIFA selection criteria
The entity evaluates technique, beauty and importance of the goal for the match. Bids from official competitions are included in the analysis.
The award has been held annually since 2009 for Puskás. The Marta award was created in 2023 for women’s football.
The Best 2025 ceremony takes place on a date not yet announced. Other categories, such as best player, will also be awarded.
