The current Rockstar Games confirmed this Thursday (7) the postponement of Grand Theft Auto VI. The game will hit stores on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The previous date pointed to May of the same year.
The developer justified the decision by the need to finish the title with the expected quality standard. Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar, stated that they are very confident that this will be the last adjustment to the schedule.
The announcement caused Take shares to drop about 8% two minutes after the announcement. The price reached $30 in regular trading.

The company published a note signed by the entire team. The text recognizes the long wait of more than a decade.
“We apologize for adding more time to what has already been a long wait,” the statement read. Os extra months of Os will guarantee the level of quality gamers deserve.
The message thanks fans for their patience. Rockstar is pleased to present the updated status of the Leonida and Vice City.

The PC version has not yet been updated
The initial version is only on current generation consoles. Rockstar has not confirmed the desktop edition. The company’s standard is to release the PC version months later. GTA V arrived on PC in 2015, almost two years after consoles.
The wait for GTA 6 completes 13 years since the last main title. Rockstar focuses its efforts on offering a complete experience in 2026.
