Fórmula 2 began this Friday (28) the penultimate stage of the 2025 season at Circuito Internacional of Lusail, at Catar. Leonardo Fornaroli arrives as leader with 188 points and can take the title if they open a 40-point lead by Sunday. The round follows the GP of Catar of Fórmula 1 and marks the return of the category after nine weeks without races.

Five drivers still have a mathematical chance of winning the title, with 78 points up for grabs in the final two stages. Jak Crawford occupies second position with 169 points, followed by Luke Browning with 161. Richard Verschoor and Alex Dunne complete the group of postulants, although further away.

The weekend also features Super Formula Lights in Motegi and the opening of Formula Trophy in Dubai, closing November with three access category events.

The category has recorded three driver changes since Baku. Nikola Tsolov debuted at Campos, Martinius Stenshorne returned to Rodin and James Wharton occupies a place at Trident.

Super Formula Lights ends season in Motegi

The Japanese stage marks the end of the 2025 Super Formula Lights championship. Yuto Nomura already won the title in Fuji and runs without pressure in Mobility Resort Motegi (UTC+9).

The grid has 15 cars, a record for the category. Hiyu Yamakoshi premieres on Delightworks after season on Fórmula Regional Europeia.

The schedule includes three races over the weekend:

  • Saturday (29/11): Corrida 1 at 2:10 pm
  • Sunday (30/11): Corrida 2 at 9:05 am and Corrida 3 at 1:30 pm

Formula Trophy starts season in Dubai with record grid

Autódromo of Dubai hosts the opening round of the 2025 season of Formula Trophy (UTC+4). The category adopted Pirelli tires and changed its name to align with the global access series.

Three teams debut: Akcel GP, Black Blade Racing and Hitech. Prema, 2024 champion, returns to the grid alongside eight other teams.

The weekend features three races:

  • Saturday (29/11): Corrida 1 at 4:30 pm
  • Sunday (30/11): Corrida 2 at 9:05 am and Corrida 3 at 12:50 pm

Other events and postponements on Brasil

The Fórmula 4 Brasileira canceled the stage scheduled for the Autódromo of Brasília due to lack of FIA approval. An extra round in Interlagos, in December, should replace the date.

Heitor Dall’Agnol remains leader with a 79 point advantage over Filippo Fiorentino. The series Stock Pro Series and Stock Light maintain normal programming on the same weekend.

The last weekend of November focuses attention on the access categories before the final decision of Fórmula 2 on Abu Dhabi, scheduled for December 5th to 7th.
