Apple released this Friday, December 12, 2025, the final versions of iOS 26.2, iPadOS 26.2, macOS Tahoe 26.2, watchOS 26.2, tvOS 26.2, visionOS 26.2 and the HomePod 26.2 software. The updates arrive a few days after phase Release Candidate and bring new features, visual refinements and security fixes. The company also made security updates available for older versions, such as iOS 18.7.3 and macOS Sequoia 15.7.3.
Liquid Glass gains more visual refinement
The Liquid Glass style, introduced on line 26, receives adjustments to several interface elements. In the Medida app, the level now displays translucent circles that deform the background grid, replacing the previous flat design.
The Central of Notificações adapts the buttons to the new look, and the clock of the Tela of Quem opting for “Opaque” mode receives a warning of incompatibility with accessibility features that reduce transparency.
Reminders now work as alarms
The Lembretes app gains the “Urgent” option, which turns tasks into persistent audible alarms. Alarmes created in the Relógio app can also be linked directly to specific reminders.
An explanatory message appears when marking an item as urgent, making the new feature easier for all users to use.
Apple Music finally displays lyrics offline
One of subscribers’ oldest requests has been met: song lyrics are now available even without an internet connection. The feature works automatically for already downloaded or recently played tracks.
Furthermore, the sharing of excerpts of lyrics gains stylized art for the Status on WhatsApp, matching the experience already existing on the Stories of the Instagram.
Podcasts receive automatic chapters and timed links
English podcast creators can count on automatic generation of chapters from the episode transcript if they don’t add them manually. The player starts to display timed links mentioned during playback.
References to other shows automatically create direct links, improving navigation between related episodes.
AirDrop gains temporary sharing code
Users can generate one-time codes to transfer files via AirDrop without having to maintain permanent visibility. The code adds the recipient to your known contacts list for 30 days.
A new section in Ajustes lets you manage these temporary contacts with ease.
Regional changes in União Europeia and Japão
On União Europeia, synchronization of Wi-Fi networks between iPhone and newly configured Apple Watch was limited due to regulatory issues. The Tradução to Vivo feature reaches compatible AirPods in all countries in the bloc.
In Japão, users gain the freedom to set a default voice assistant different from the Siri on the side button and access to alternative application stores, similar to what already occurs in the Europa.
Exclusive new features in macOS Tahoe 26.2
The system for Macs features the Borda Luminosa feature, which adds virtual circular light to the edge of the screen during calls in low light. Aplicativos based on the Electron framework no longer crashes when its windows are visible.
M5 chips have neural accelerators per GPU core fully enabled, significantly increasing performance in machine learning tasks.
Other improvements spread across the systems include:

- Filters and sorting in the Jogos app library
- Creating variable tables in Freeform
- Option to create profiles without Apple ID on tvOS
Updates are now available via OTA on compatible devices. Apple recommends immediate installation, especially due to the included security fixes.
