New Nissan Roox redefines kei car standards with space and advanced technology

In 2025, Nissan launched the fourth generation ofRoox, a kei car that stands out in the Japanese market for combining ample space, advanced technology and refined performance. The model has accumulated more than 22 thousand orders since its announcement, reflecting strong acceptance among consumers looking for compact vehicles for urban and family use. Super-hight wagons like the Roox account for more than half of kei car sales, which occupy about a third of the country’s total passenger car market.

The new Roox adopts a rounded square shape theme design, expanding the feeling of internal space. The company extended the front and rear roof by 100 mm compared to its predecessor, in addition to tilting the windshield further to emphasize the spaciousness. The model offers versions with naturally aspirated and turbo engines, serving everything from urban journeys to longer trips.

The interior prioritizes comfort and practicality in all configurations. The rear seats slide up to 320 mm, allowing you to adjust legroom or luggage space. Portas electric sides facilitate access, while soft materials on the seats increase perceived quality.

External design and visual identity

The new Roox adopts a rounded corner motif on headlights, lanterns and door handles, creating a welcoming and modern look. The wide front grille and concave side lines reinforce stability. Two-color Opções expands customization, with 17 shades available.

The Highway Star version gains sporty elements, such as exclusive wheels and different finishes. The model maintains kei car dimensions (3,395 mm long, 1,475 mm wide and 1,785 mm high), ensuring maneuverability in congested cities. The optimized drag coefficient contributes to silence at higher speeds.

Tests reveal that the Roox conveys the feeling of a vehicle larger than its actual size. The suspension balances comfort and stability, filtering irregularities without excesses.

The Roox offers a 659 cc three-cylinder engine in naturally aspirated and turbocharged variants. The X version, with natural aspiration, costs from 173 thousand yen and is perfectly suited to urban use, with progressive acceleration and efficient consumption. The engine delivers power from low speeds, facilitating maneuvers in heavy traffic.

The Roox debuts 12.3-inch central display with Google integrated into kei cars. The NissanConnect system allows navigation via Google Maps, voice commands via Google Assistant and access to apps via Google Play. Nissan invests heavily in marketing for urban families. The model competes directly with the Honda N-Box and Suzuki Spacia, standing out for its refinement and technology. Analistas predict continued growth in the segment, driven by innovations such as those of Roox.

Consumers value daily practicality combined with premium comfort. The Roox suits everything from everyday use to weekend getaways.
