Xiaomi officially launched theXiaomi 17 Ultra, its photography flagship for late 2025, with a special edition in partnership with Leica that introduces a mechanical zoom ring integrated into the camera module. Mechanical zoom ring in Leica edition
The Leica edition of the Xiaomi 17 Esse mechanical component, made up of 26 parts, maintains the device’s resistance and simulates the experience of professional lenses.
The design includes a two-tone finish, textured edges, red Leica logo and exclusive engravings. The special box comes with a MagSafe compatible magnetic cover, lens cap, lanyard and branded cleaning cloth.
Camera system co-developed with Leica
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra’s camera set prioritizes professional photography, with a 50 MP main sensor in a 1-inch format, f/1.67 aperture and LOFIC technology for greater dynamic range. The 50 MP ultrawide covers 115° of field, while the front also reaches 50 MP.
The 200MP periscopic telephoto lens offers 3.2x to 4.3x continuous optical zoom (75-100mm equivalent), with the Leica APO certified for reduced chromatic aberrations. Modos as Leica Moments in 3:2 aspect ratio and film simulations including Monopan 50 enrich creative options.

Design and differences of the special edition
The Leica edition adopts a look inspired by classic cameras, with a prominent red logo and a premium black or off-white finish. The zoom ring elevates interaction by eliminating screen taps for quick adjustments.

Pricing and initial availability
In the Chinese market, the standard Xiaomi 17 Ultra starts at around US$995 for 16GB/512GB configuration. The Leica edition starts at US$1,140 in the same configuration, with the option of 1 TB for a higher price.
Sales began on December 27th at China. The Xiaomi confirmed a global launch in 2026, possibly including the Leica edition, following the pattern of events such as MWC.
