MEB+ platform and APP 290 engine

The new MEB+ platform represents an evolution of the group’s electrical architecture. Ela allows transverse front motor and more compact components, such as integrated inverter. The APP 290 electric propellant delivers a fixed torque of 290 Nm in all versions and reduces weight.

Four power options appear: 116 hp, 135 hp, 211 hp and 226 hp. The most powerful version is called ID.Polo GTI and arrives later than the initial launch.

Differentiated batteries and autonomy

The 116 hp and 135 hp configurations use a 37 kWh LFP battery. Essas variants offer an estimated range of 300 km in the WLTP cycle and fast charging of up to 90 kW in direct current, recharging from 10% to 80% in 27 minutes. Maximum speed is limited to 160 km/h.

The 211 hp and 226 hp options adopt a higher energy density NMC battery. Range reaches 450 km in WLTP, with fast charging of up to 130 kW, reducing time by 10% to 80% to 23 minutes. The maximum speed rises to 175 km/h.

Dimensions and expanded internal space

The ID.Polo maintains a compact size suitable for urban use. The longer wheelbase provides legroom in the rear seats. The approximate weight of all versions is around 1,500 kg.

The McPherson strut front and torsion beam rear suspension ensure balanced behavior. Freios four-wheel discs complete the technical package.

Focus on daily usability

The Volkswagen emphasizes simplicity in the interior. Comandos for air conditioning are below the multimedia. Retrovisores and power windows operate via a handle on the driver’s door. Maçanetas adapted from the new T-Roc makes access easier.

The model will coexist with the Polo combustion in the Europa. Production takes place in local factories, with batteries supplied by the group’s PowerCo division.

GTI version maintains sporting tradition

The ID.Polo GTI preserves the iconic acronym with a focus on drivability. Detalhes of performance, such as acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h, awaits official disclosure. The proposal seeks a balance between power and efficiency.
