Forza Horizon 6 accelerates to Japão with expansive map

The first big reveal of the event was Forza Horizon 6, whose gameplay was shown by Playground Games. With release confirmed for May 19, 2026, the title will take players to the landscapes of Japão, featuring the largest and most diverse map in the history of the franchise. The setting was built to explore the country’s rich automotive culture, ranging from neon-lit metropolises to winding mountain roads and ancient temples. The map will feature varied biomes, pronounced verticality for challenging races and a dynamic system of seasonal changes that drastically alters gameplay. At launch, more than 550 cars will be available, including new vehicles like the 2025 GR GT prototype. Novas features have been introduced, such as fully customizable garages and the The Estate system, as well as new competition modes such as Drag Meets and Horizon Time Attack Circuits, expanding the options for racing enthusiasts.

The return of Fable with renewed humor and morality

Playground Games also presented news about the highly anticipated Fable, revealing a new trailer focused on the beginning of the hero’s journey and character customization options. The game promises to bring back the series’ characteristic British humor, while modernizing its main mechanics. The launch is scheduled for autumn 2026 and will adopt a multiplatform approach, arriving simultaneously for Xbox, PC and PlayStation 5, in addition to being available on Steam.

The open world of Albion has been recreated with an impressive level of detail, populated by NPCs that dynamically react to the player’s actions. The morality system, one of the hallmarks of the franchise, was deepened, ensuring that the choices made throughout the campaign have real and visible consequences on the environment and the way the world interacts with the protagonist. Combat has been redesigned to be more fluid, mixing classic enemies with new threats that will require different strategies to defeat.

Action and strategy meet in Beast of Reincarnation

Developed by Game Freak, known for the Pokémon series, Beast of Reincarnation was presented as a title that mixes real-time action combat with turn-based strategy elements. The narrative takes place in a post-apocalyptic Japão in the year 4026 and follows the journey of Emma and his canine companion, Koo.

Gameplay allows Emma to utilize plant-based powers, an ability originating from a condition known as “blight”, while Koo provides support with special abilities. An innovative system allows you to pause the action to issue strategic commands, bringing the experience closer to a tactical RPG.

The game will offer three difficulty levels to adapt to different player styles and will be released in the summer of 2026.

Double Fine reveals Kiln, a chaotic ceramic battle

The big surprise of the event came from Double Fine, who announced Kiln, a 4-on-4 competitive multiplayer brawler with a unique premise. In the game, participants must create their own armor and weapons using ceramics, using pottery mechanics that simulate the real process of molding and firing pots.

Each type of ceramic created grants different abilities, transforming battle arenas into a field of creation and destruction. The realistic physics applied to ceramic objects promises unpredictable and fun combats. The release is scheduled for spring 2026 on Xbox, PC and PlayStation 5.

The studio announced that a closed beta will soon be available to players enrolled in the Double Fine Action Insiders program. The title will also reach Game Pass on launch day, reinforcing the developer’s focus on creating accessible and creative multiplayer experiences, with cross-play support between all platforms.

Integrated ecosystem and technical optimization

All games showcased at Developer Direct were developed with optimization for the Xbox Series X|S, ensuring high performance, reduced loading times and next-generation visual fidelity. The trailers highlighted the use of dynamic lighting, detailed textures, and responsive environments. Em Forza Horizon 6’s attention to environmental detail was a high point, while Fable impressed with the liveliness of its characters and organic interactions. Beast of Reincarnation displayed complex particle effects, and Kiln surprised with its realistic physics.

Support for Xbox Cloud Gaming has been confirmed for the entire catalog presented, allowing Game Pass Ultimate subscribers to play the titles on any compatible device without the need for dedicated hardware. Essa integration reinforces Microsoft’s strategy of offering flexibility and continuous access to its gaming ecosystem, regardless of the user’s chosen platform, ensuring that progress is automatically synchronized.

Expanding multiplatform strategy

Microsoft demonstrated a clear expansion in its distribution strategy, confirming that Fable and Kiln will also be released for PlayStation 5. Beast of Reincarnation, in turn, will maintain an initial exclusivity in the Xbox ecosystem, although future expansions to other platforms have not been ruled out.

Confirmed dates for main releases

The event solidified the Xbox release calendar, offering concrete dates that allow players to plan. Kiln will arrive in Spring 2026, followed by Forza Horizon 6 on May 19. Beast of Reincarnation is scheduled for summer, and Fable will close out the year with its fall release. The clarity in the launch windows was one of the most praised points of the presentation, consolidating expectations for the coming months.
