Xiaomi has started the official distribution of its new system interface, HyperOS 3, for a wide range of devices in the Chinese market. The update is being released gradually and includes several smartphones from the popular Redmi and POCO lines, as well as the brand’s tablets, consolidating the company’s strategy of unifying its ecosystem with a focus on artificial intelligence and performance optimization.
The new version of the operating system is built on different foundations of Android, with the latest devices receiving Android 16, while intermediate models are updated based on Android 15.
Batch release is a strategy for monitoring user feedback in real time, allowing the development team to make fixes and adjustments before a mass rollout. The main objective is to ensure a fluid transition and a superior user experience, with smoother animations and deeper integration between products in the Xiaomi ecosystem.

What’s new in HyperOS 3 artificial intelligence
The great difference of HyperOS 3 lies in its robust integration of artificial intelligence resources, developed to simplify daily tasks and make interaction with the smartphone more intuitive and proactive. The platform now incorporates a suite of advanced tools, such as a gallery editor that uses generative AI to remove unwanted objects from photographs, create artistic portraits with lighting effects, and enhance overall image quality with just one tap. Funções of intelligent writing have been improved, offering contextual suggestions and assistance in composing texts, emails and messages. Real-time machine translation, powered by cutting-edge language models, now offers greater accuracy and context, making it easier to communicate and search for information in different languages directly within the system.
HyperIsland and the new approach to notifications
One of the most visible new features in the HyperOS 3 interface is the introduction of HyperIsland. Trata is a dynamic area, located at the top of the screen, that displays contextual information and quick controls in a discreet and non-intrusive way, adapting to what the user is doing at the moment.
This functionality allows, for example, monitoring the status of a delivery, viewing the remaining time of a race via application or controlling music playback without having to open the corresponding application. The solution aims to optimize multitasking and provide immediate access to relevant information, improving productivity and convenience in daily device use.
List of eligible devices in the first phase of distribution
The first wave of updates at China includes an extensive list of devices from different segments, covering some of the company’s most popular models. At the top of the list are devices from the Redmi K line, including the Redmi K60 Pro and the Redmi K60.
The highly successful Redmi Note series is also being serviced, with the update coming for the Redmi Note 15, Redmi Note 14 5G and the Redmi Note 13R Pro. Outros models such as the Redmi Note 13 5G and the Redmi Note 13 Pro complete the initial list for this family.
The recently launched Redmi Turbo 3 is also among the first to receive the new interface, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to keeping its releases up to date. Da POCO line, the M6 model Pro is the representative included in this initial phase of distribution.
In the tablet segment, Xiaomi prioritized its highest performance models, with the Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro and the Xiaomi Pad 6
Improved compatibility with the Apple ecosystem
Recognizing that many of its users use a mixed ecosystem of devices, Xiaomi has strategically deepened HyperOS 3 compatibility with Apple products. The new version of the system allows, for example, to mirror the Xiaomi smartphone screen directly on an iPad.
Additionally, interoperability has been extended to allow smartphone applications to be opened in separate windows within a Mac, facilitating workflows that involve multiple operating systems and breaking down barriers between competing platforms.
Another standout feature is the ability to use the Face ID or Touch ID from an iPhone or iPad to unlock the Xiaomi smartphone, adding an extra layer of security and convenience. The company guarantees that the exchange of information is carried out with robust security protocols.
Core optimizations for performance and battery
HyperOS 3 isn’t just about new visuals and AI features; it also brings a deep refinement to the core of the operating system, resulting in direct improvements in performance and energy efficiency. The update introduces an optimized kernel and a restructured file management system, which decrease latency and speed up the time to open applications and perform heavier tasks. The graphics rendering system has been improved to deliver smoother, more seamless animations and screen transitions, something especially noticeable in games and when navigating the interface.
Regarding energy management, the system now uses artificial intelligence algorithms to learn an individual’s usage patterns, allocating CPU and memory resources in a more intelligent and predictive way. Isso means that applications running in the background consume less power, while resources are prioritized for tasks that are in the foreground. The expected result is an increase in battery life, which becomes more noticeable after the first few days of adapting the system to user behavior.
Essential guidelines before performing the update
Xiaomi released some important recommendations for users, aiming to ensure that the HyperOS 3 installation process goes smoothly. The main guideline is to carry out a complete backup of all personal data, including photos, videos, contacts and documents, as a precautionary measure against any unexpected loss of information during the process.
The company also informs that it is normal for the device to experience slightly higher power consumption and moderate heating in the first hours or days after the update. Esse behavior occurs because the system is running optimizations in the background, rearranging files, and adapting to the hardware and installed applications.
Global availability and revamped interface
Currently, the distribution of HyperOS 3 is focused exclusively on the Chinese market, but Xiaomi has already confirmed that global versions are in an advanced testing phase. The launch for the international market is expected to begin in the first months of 2026, although a detailed schedule by country and model has not yet been released. Além of the performance improvements, the update brings a refined interface, with new customization options on the lock screen, new icons and fonts for a more modern look.
