Samsung reinforces its presence in the Brazilian corporate market with the availability of the Galaxy Tab Active5 5G, a tablet specifically developed to withstand adverse working conditions and challenging environments. The device is aimed at professionals in sectors such as construction, logistics, security and field services, who need a reliable and robust technological tool.

The model stands out for its resistance certifications, including IP68, which guarantees protection against water and dust, and the military standard MIL-STD-810H, which attests to its ability to withstand drops, vibrations and extreme temperatures. Lançado originally in 2024, the tablet maintains its relevance by combining durability with modern features such as 5G connectivity and the inclusion of the S Pen Pen, which is also resistant.

Available on the national market with a suggested price of R$3,699, the device comes in a single configuration with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD card. Essa specification seeks to meet the demands of business applications and important data storage for external operations, consolidating it as a complete solution for corporate fleets.

Robust design and professional functionality

The design of the Galaxy Tab Active5 5G was entirely focused on durability and ergonomics for use in the field. With dimensions of 213.8 x 126.8 x 10.1 mm and a weight of 433 grams, the tablet is compact enough to be handled with just one hand, even with gloves on. Sua structure is reinforced, and the device comes with a protective cover that increases resistance against drops up to 1.8 meters in height, a crucial difference in environments such as construction sites or warehouses.

In addition to its physical construction, the tablet incorporates features designed for the professional workflow. Programmable physical Botões allow quick access to essential applications or functions such as flashlight and scanner, optimizing the user’s time. Outro notable feature is the presence of POGO pins, which facilitate charging at docks and fixed workstations, ideal for companies that manage multiple devices simultaneously. The removable back gives access to the battery, allowing it to be replaced quickly and conveniently.

Screen optimized for outdoor environments

The device’s screen has been designed to ensure maximum visibility and usability in any lighting condition. With 8 inches and TFT technology, the panel offers WUXGA resolution (1920 x 1200 pixels) and a refresh rate of 120 Hz, which provides fluid and responsive navigation. Maximum brightness of 600 nits, combined with Vision Booster technology, automatically adjusts contrast and colors, making content readable even in direct sunlight.

The touchscreen sensitivity has been improved to work accurately even when the user is wearing thin gloves or has wet hands, a common need in many outdoor professional activities. Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection increases the display’s resistance against scratches and impacts, ensuring the integrity of the device’s most used component.

To complete the user experience, the Galaxy Tab Active5 5G comes with the S Pen. The pen is IP68 certified, just like the tablet, and does not require charging, so it is always ready to use. Ela allows you to make notes, digital signatures and technical drawings with high precision, integrating perfectly into the Samsung productivity ecosystem.

Performance and connectivity for work

Equipped with the Exynos 1380 processor, an octa-core processor that reaches speeds of up to 2.4 GHz, the tablet delivers consistent performance for running corporate applications and multitasking. The Mali-G68 MP5 GPU complements the set, ensuring fluidity in applications that demand graphics processing.

The 6 GB of RAM is enough to manage multiple processes and open windows without crashes, while the 128 GB of internal storage can be expanded with a microSD card of up to 1 TB, offering plenty of space for documents, projects and offline data.

Connectivity is one of the model’s strong points. 5G support ensures high-speed communication and data transfer, essential for teams working remotely. The device also features Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3 for connection to modern accessories, and NFC for contactless payments and authentication.

The set of connections is complemented by a precise geolocation system, compatible with GPS, Glonass and Galileo, essential for logistics services and tracking teams in the field. The presence of a 3.5 mm headphone jack is also an important detail for noisy environments.

Removable battery and continuous operation mode

The energy autonomy of the Galaxy Tab Active5 5G is managed by a 5050 mAh battery, which offers up to 16 hours of continuous video playback, according to the manufacturer. In a mixed use scenario, the device can support a full workday without difficulty. The big difference, however, is the fact that the battery is removable. Essa feature, rare in modern tablets, allows the user to swap the battery for a charged unit in seconds, eliminating downtime for recharging. The Samsung offers additional certified batteries for individual purchase, further expanding flexibility for long-term operations. Além In addition, the tablet has the “No Battery” mode, which allows it to operate continuously when connected directly to a power source via USB-C, without the need for an installed battery. Essa function is ideal for use in kiosks, points of sale or as a fixed terminal in vehicles, preserving the useful life of the component.

Extended supported cameras and software

The set of cameras was designed for documentation and communication in the workplace. The 13 MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash is capable of recording clear images of documents, barcodes and inspection scenarios, in addition to recording videos in 4K resolution at 30 frames per second. The 5 MP front camera, in turn, is suitable for video conferencing, ensuring clear and stable calls, especially when combined with the 5G connection.

The tablet ships with the Android 14 operating system and the One UI 6 from Samsung. The company guarantees an extended lifecycle for the software, with the promise of four major Android updates and five years of security packages. Esse long-term support is a decisive factor for the corporate sector, as it ensures the protection of sensitive data and compatibility with new applications over time. The Samsung Knox security platform adds an extra layer of protection, while DeX mode turns the tablet into a desktop experience when connected to an external display.

Resistance certifications in detail

The robustness of the Galaxy Tab Active5 5G is validated by a series of rigorous tests that simulate the worst usage conditions. The device is subjected to immersion in up to 1.5 meters of fresh water for 30 minutes, exposure to jets of dust and sand, repeated falls from heights that follow military standards, in addition to operation at temperatures ranging from very low to extremely high. Testing also includes intense vibrations, simulating transport in off-road vehicles, and operation at high altitudes, ensuring the device remains functional and reliable in the most demanding environments.
