Xiaomi has officially started development of its next major operating system update, HyperOS 3, which will be built on the future Android 16 platform. The technology giant has already published a preliminary implementation schedule, which will extend from the end of 2025 until the first quarter of 2026, confirming the first models in the Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO lines that will receive the new interface and its improved functionalities.

What to expect from HyperOS 3 in terms of functionality
The HyperOS 3 update promises to be one of the most significant ever released by Xiaomi, bringing profound changes to both the functionality and appearance of the system. One of the most anticipated new features is the introduction of “HyperIsland”, an interface function that groups notifications and real-time activities in a dynamic area, analogous to solutions seen in other systems.
