Microsoft officially completed a restructuring of the Xbox Game Pass subscription levels, dividing the service into essential, standard and ultimate categories to serve different consumer profiles. The strategic change aims to offer more flexibility to players and expand access to the brand’s digital ecosystem on consoles, computers and mobile devices. With the new architecture, the company seeks to consolidate its position in the subscription services market, often compared to the video streaming model, but focused on interactive entertainment.
New plans and price adjustments
The Xbox Game Pass Standard plan was designed to be the intermediate gateway, with a monthly fee set at R$43.90. Esta category focuses on players who are looking for a robust library of already established titles, but who do not require immediate access to releases on opening day. The package includes access to online multiplayer modes and a selection of hundreds of high-quality console games.
Version Ultimate, considered the ecosystem’s definitive experience, had its price adjusted to R$119.90 per month. Este plan encompasses all the benefits of the lower categories and adds exclusive features that justify the higher investment, such as access to Xbox Cloud Gaming. Cloud technology allows subscribers to play next-generation titles on smart televisions, tablets and smartphones without needing to own the console hardware.
Differentiation between levels becomes crucial for the company’s launch strategy. Apenas subscribers to the Ultimate plan will have guaranteed access to Xbox Game Studios games on launch day. Isso includes major titles awaited by the community, such as the futureCall of Duty: Black Ops 7 e Hollow Knight: Silksong, which will be available in the premium catalog immediately after their global debut.
Strategic partnerships and extra content
To increase the service’s value proposition, Microsoft strengthened integration with large third-party publishers. The Ubisoft+ Classics catalog was incorporated into the plans, bringing renowned franchises to the library at no additional cost. Jogadores will be able to access successes such asAssassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag e Far Cry 5, significantly expanding the genre options available, from action and adventure to first-person shooters.
Another relevant new feature is the inclusion of monthly benefits for continuous service games. From November 18th, the Ultimate plan will include the Clube Fortnite subscription. The benefits listed for Epic Games battle royale players are extensive:
- Access to Passe of Batalha of the current season;
- Monthly receipt of 1,000 V-Bucks for spending in the game store;
- Exclusive cosmetic items from the club pack.

Expansion via cloud and legacy
Cloud gaming technology remains a central pillar in the company’s long-term vision. The ability to stream games directly from Microsoft’s servers eliminates hardware barriers, allowing the service to reach an audience that would not traditionally invest in a dedicated console. xCloud’s stability and low latency are focal points for continuous improvement to ensure the streaming experience is comparable to running locally.
In addition to the new features, the company ensured that the catalog of “backwards compatible” games and acclaimed independent titles, such asHades e Cities: Skylines Remastered, remain accessible. Maintaining these games reinforces the commitment to preserving the digital library and offers ongoing value for subscribers who want to explore both the platform’s new offerings and classics.
