The Japanese technology giant has officially announced a new strategy to bring its peripherals closer to personal computers. The move consists of selling a dedicated package, containing control of the current generation of consoles and essential accessories for connectivity on desktop machines and laptops. The novelty initially arrives on the Asian market in early March, reinforcing the company’s interest in expanding its presence beyond traditional table consoles.

The newly announced bundle includes the Midnight Black version of the controller, known for its matte black finish, along with an end-to-end Type-C USB cable. The inclusion of this specific cable aims to meet the modern standardization of newer motherboards and cases, eliminating the need for adapters for users who prefer or require a wired connection.

Technical details and features

Choosing a cable connection offers tangible technical advantages for the enthusiast public. Data transmission via USB-C ensures reduced latency compared to wireless connections, a critical factor for competitive games that require fast reflexes. Além Furthermore, the accessory allows simultaneous charging of the device’s internal battery during use sessions, ensuring that gaming is not interrupted due to a lack of power.

Even though it is aimed at the computer, the peripheral maintains all the features that made it popular on the original console. PC users will be able to enjoy enhanced haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, as long as the games they play natively support these technologies. Digital distribution Plataformas, like the Steam, already have robust integration with the device, facilitating automatic recognition and button configuration.

Market context and values

The launch of this kit occurs at a time when the brand’s library of exclusive games migrates to computers with increasing frequency. Big-budget Títulos, previously restricted to the company’s console, are now among the best sellers in digital PC stores, creating a natural demand for the original hardware that was designed to offer the complete experience of these games.

Regarding costs, the set was priced at 11,480 yen for the Japanese market. In a direct conversion to Brazilian currency, without considering import taxes or logistics fees, the value is close to R$400.
