The Honda officially announced the arrival of the new version of the XL750 Transalp to the European market, bringing relevant technological updates to the medium-displacement adventurer segment. The model was presented during the Salão of Milão and stands out for incorporating systems that aim to increase the comfort and versatility of the motorcycle. The main innovation lies in the adoption of a transmission assistance technology that promises to change the driving dynamics in different scenarios.

In addition to mechanical and electronic modifications, the Japanese manufacturer invested in an aesthetic renovation to align the product with current global design trends. The changes to the cycling complex respond to demands for greater adaptability to varied terrain, reinforcing the vehicle’s mixed-use proposal. Sales on the European continent are expected to begin at the end of 2025.

Innovation in the transmission system

The big technical difference of this launch is the inclusion of the E-Clutch system, an electronic clutch technology developed by the brand. Este feature eliminates the need for the pilot to operate the clutch lever during gear changes, whether up or down. The electronic management works to smooth the engagement, providing a more fluid and less exhausting drive, especially in intense urban traffic situations where changes are constant.

Despite the automation, the system preserves the possibility of conventional manual operation, ensuring that more purist motorcyclists or those in specific off-road situations can take full control of the clutch at any time. The technology was designed to offer millimeter precision, which translates into greater safety and control when overcoming obstacles or performing maneuvers at low speeds.

The implementation of the E-Clutch on the Transalp follows the company’s strategy of democratizing driving assistance technologies in its mid-size line. The system not only reduces the driver’s physical fatigue on long journeys, but also minimizes the risk of the engine stalling during sudden departures or restarts, a considerable benefit for drivers of different experience levels.

Suspension and chassis improvements

The motorcycle’s dynamic response received special attention from engineers, resulting in significant improvements to the suspension set provided by the Showa. The front features 43 millimeter inverted forks, which now offer complete adjustments, allowing the driver to configure the stiffness and rebound according to the load carried and the type of terrain. At the rear, the shock absorber with the Pro-Link system also offers adjustments, expanding the bike’s range of use.

These chassis updates aim to correct previous criticisms about the suspension’s performance in extreme conditions, now offering a superior balance between comfort on the road and shock absorption capacity on trails. The structure maintains the diamond-type steel frame, which works together with the 21-inch spoked wheels at the front and 18-inches at the rear, measures considered ideal for overcoming irregularities with stability.

Motorization and energy efficiency

The heart of the motorcycle remains the 755 cm³ Unicam parallel twin engine, a propellant that has established itself by delivering power at low and medium speeds. The performance numbers keep the motorcycle competitive in its category, delivering a maximum power of 92 horsepower at 9,500 rpm. The maximum torque of 7.6 kgf.m appears at 7,250 rpm, guaranteeing vigorous restarts.

Consumption efficiency is another point that the brand highlights, with reported averages of around 23 kilometers per liter. Considerando the fuel tank capacity of 16.9 liters, the estimated range is close to 390 kilometers. Essa characteristic is fundamental for the profile of users who use the vehicle for long distance trips, where the frequency of fuel stops needs to be minimized.

Technological package and renewed look

The interface with the pilot is carried out through a 5-inch color TFT instrument panel, which offers connectivity via Bluetooth for integration with smartphones. The electronics package is robust, offering five distinct riding modes: Standard, Sport, Rain, Gravel and User. Cada mode adjusts parameters such as power delivery, engine braking and traction control and ABS intervention, which can be customized according to the driver’s preference.

In terms of aesthetics, the line received new color options that seek to reinforce the model’s adventurous identity. Variations include the Ross White Tricolor, a tribute to the brand’s classic colors, as well as the discreet Mat Ballistic Black Metallic and the modern Pearl Deep Mud Gray. The graphics were updated to give a more contemporary and aggressive appearance, in line with the visual proposal of the manufacturer’s adventure motorcycle family.

Other standard features include emergency braking warning lights and hazard lights with automatic cancellation. Ergonomics were maintained with the seat height at 850 millimeters, and the total weight of the package in running order is 210 kilos, keeping the motorcycle accessible to a wide range of heights and offering adequate maneuverability for the size of the vehicle.

Market perspectives

The launch of the new Transalp at Europa signals the manufacturer’s next steps in the global two-wheel segment. The introduction of technologies such as the electronic clutch in medium-displacement models demonstrates a movement to raise the standard of the category, putting pressure on competitors to also update their products. The acceptance of the European public will serve as a thermometer for the model’s expansion strategy.

Although the announcement was focused on the European continent, it is natural that the updates will reach other important markets, including Brazil, later. The Transalp already has a solid consumer base in the Brasil, and the arrival of adjustable suspensions and the E-Clutch would reinforce its position against European and Asian rivals competing for the same market niche.
