Vivo used the scenario of Mobile World Congress 2026, in Barcelona, to demonstrate its latest investment in the high-performance photography segment with the X300 Ultra model. The device hits the market accompanied by an unprecedented telephoto extender, the result of a partnership with Zeiss, designed to offer optical zoom capabilities previously restricted to dedicated photographic equipment. The presentation confirmed the brand’s intention to expand the presence of this top-of-the-line model to global markets later this year.
Optical innovation expands photographic range
The big difference presented was the Vivo Zeiss Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra, an accessory that modifies the physics of image capture on smartphones. When attached to the device, the extender provides a focal length equivalent to 400mm, allowing a zoom of approximately 17x without the image degradation common in digital enlargements. The system was developed to maintain the full optical output of the 200 MP sensor, ensuring high resolution even in long-distance captures.
In addition to the physical reach, the set offers robust technical features to ensure usability in real-world situations. The system integrates gimbal-level optical stabilization, essential for keeping framing stable at such long focal lengths, where any vibration is amplified. The technology also uses APO standards to correct chromatic aberrations, ensuring color fidelity and sharpness at the edges of the image.
Among the technical specifications that highlight the equipment in the sector are:
– Capacidade hybrid range of up to 1600mm through digital cropping;
– Rastreamento focus on movement for dynamic scenes;
– Design compact structure that balances portability and power;
– Certificação advanced optics in collaboration with Zeiss.
Dedicated tools for video production
To complement the photographic capabilities, the manufacturer revealed an expandable cage designed specifically for the X300 Ultra chassis. Este accessory turns your smartphone into a videography workstation, offering dual grip that significantly increases stability during extended handheld recordings. The structure has multiple attachment points for microphones and external lights.
The cage not only acts as a passive support, but integrates active functionalities to improve the device’s performance. A fan cooling system operates at different intensity levels, preventing the processor from overheating during intense high-resolution capture sessions. Adicionalmente, physical buttons have been incorporated to allow tactile control of the shutter and zoom, simulating the ergonomics of professional cameras.
International launch strategy
The confirmation of the arrival of the X300 Ultra on the international market represents a significant change in Vivo’s commercial strategy. Historicamente focused on the Chinese market with its most advanced series, the company now seeks to compete directly in the global premium segment, including the Europa. The decision reflects confidence in the technological maturity of the product and the growing demand for mobile devices capable of replacing traditional cameras in professional workflows.
The initial launch is scheduled to take place on China later in March, serving as a starting point for subsequent global distribution. The device combines these image innovations with cutting-edge specifications, such as an LTPO display and a high-capacity battery, consolidating itself as a versatile tool for both media consumption and content creation.
