Microsoft has intensified its strategies to consolidate leadership in the dynamic artificial intelligence market aimed at companies. In a robust move, the technology giant announced the availability of new solutions and expanded access to tools that promise to revolutionize the way corporations use AI in their daily operations. Initiatives include the launch of the Microsoft 365 E7 package, a preview of the Copilot Cowork developed in partnership with Anthropic, and the expansion of the Agent 365.

These announcements mark a significant phase for Microsoft, which seeks to unify a complex ecosystem of products under a new enterprise offering, after approximately a decade without a licensing plan of this magnitude. The company, which has a vast network of around 500,000 channel partners, aims to empower both large corporations and IT and security professionals with advanced tools and robust governance to implement artificial intelligence at scale.

Launch of the Microsoft 365 E7 and its value proposition

On May 1st, Microsoft will make the Microsoft 365 E7 Frontier Worker Suite package available to the public, a strategic novelty for the corporate market. Este bundle bundles the M365 E5, M365 Copilot, A365, Entra Suite and advanced security features like the Defender, The intention is to provide companies with a complete and secure AI infrastructure.

E7 will be priced at $99 per user per month for the version that includes Microsoft Teams. Contudo, there is a slightly cheaper alternative for users who opt for the E7 without the Teams, costing US$90.45 per user monthly. Esta pricing strategy aims to provide flexibility while consolidating several essential tools under a single licensing plan.

Impact and positioning of the new package on the market

The emergence of E7 occurs during a period of intense movement in the software market, with Microsoft preparing to readjust the prices of several application packages from July 1st. Mike Wilson, technology director and partner at Interlink Cloud Advisors, a partner of Microsoft based in Mason,

Wilson explained that the investment in technology to enable employees with AI is relatively small when compared to the total labor cost. Ele highlighted the importance of providing the right tools for large-scale AI success, noting that the value inherent in new offerings outweighs the cost. The ability to apply artificial intelligence to a variety of tasks, such as emails, documents, meetings, spreadsheets and business applications, significantly optimizes business users’ time and efficiency.

Microsoft Copilot Cowork and the third wave of innovation

Microsoft is positioning the launch of the Copilot Cowork as a milestone in the third wave of Microsoft 365 Copilot innovation. Esta tool goes beyond a simple virtual assistant, becoming an agent capable of executing actions and carrying out complex tasks, orchestrating complete workflows. The collaboration with Anthropic, creator of Claude, is a key point in this initiative, demonstrating the search for synergies with market leaders in AI.

Copilot Cowork can create presentations, organize financial information and even send emails to teams, preparing the user for an important meeting, for example. Microsoft is also developing a series of ready-to-use plugins covering various cases and scenarios.

Microsoft’s Enterprise Data Protection (EDP) and WorkIQ intelligence layer are foundational to Copilot Cowork. Essas technologies allow the tool to understand users’ work patterns, their relationships and the organizational context, ensuring that actions are carried out in a safe and contextualized way. Cowork, currently in pilot phase with select customers, will enter research preview this month through Microsoft’s Frontier program. One of the biggest advantages is that the data remains in the company’s cloud, without the need for complex connectors, integrations or movement to local devices.

The “third wave” of Microsoft agent features also covers updates to the M365 Copilot in software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Usuários will be able to ask Copilot to create pivot tables, update calculations, forecast cash flow and much more directly in Excel. Além In addition, Copilot Chat is gaining the ability to create and enhance artifacts, build agents into the user’s everyday screen, and other enhanced experiences. The addition of Claude from Anthropic to the main Copilot Chat, along with the latest generation of OpenAI models, through the Frontier program, reinforces the Copilot Chat’s ability to automatically route to the most appropriate model for each task.

The Plano of Controle of Agente 365 and AI governance

On May 1, Microsoft also plans to make Agent 365, its control plane for AI agents, generally available. Costing $15 per user per month, the Agent 365 was originally introduced to members of the Frontier program during Microsoft Ignite 2025. The Esta tool represents a central point for the observation, governance, management, and security of AI agents across the organization.

Without a unified control plane, IT teams can face significant challenges in gaining visibility into the number of agents in use, their behavior, who has access to them, and potential security risks. Agent 365 addresses this issue by providing comprehensive insight and tools to manage these agents effectively. Microsoft itself uses A365 to monitor more than 500 thousand agents in its own structure, which demonstrates the scalability and effectiveness of the tool.

  • Agent 365 key features:

* Registro of agents and security policy templates for the entire organization.
* Relatórios details on agent performance, adoption and usage.
* Mapa complete list of agents and details of their activities.
* Avaliação of identity risk for agents using Entra.
* Proteção, runtime threat investigation and hunting for agents via A365 tools gateway.

In the last two months, millions of agents have already been registered with Agent 365 by customers in preview, demonstrating rapid adoption. Top identified uses include search, scheduling, sales intelligence, customer screening, and human resources self-service. Relatórios company reports indicate that over the past 28 days, agents have generated more than 65,000 responses per day for employees, underscoring the growing impact of this technology. Entra capabilities in A365 allow you to assign each agent a unique identity, enforcing large-scale trusted and conditional access policies to prevent misuse and ensure secure operations.

Price increases and the success metrics of Microsoft

Microsoft’s security division protects 1.6 million customers globally, processing more than 100 trillion signals daily, validating the company’s cybersecurity expertise. Este context is crucial to understanding the price increase that will affect several app bundles starting July 1st.

The Microsoft 365 E5, for example, costs US$57 per user per month until the increase date, when it will become US$60 (a 5% increase). The E5 version without the Teams, currently $48.45, will rise to $51.45 (6% increase). Similarmente, the Microsoft 365 E3, which costs US$36, will cost US$39 (8% increase), and the version without the Teams, US$27.45, will cost US$30.45 (11% increase).

Microsoft has consistently released metrics that attest to growth in its AI portfolio. The number of paid seats for Copilot more than doubled from the previous year, reaching 15 million paid seats, as announced during the company’s quarterly earnings call in January. Além In addition, there was a tenfold increase in daily active usage of Copilot and a threefold growth in the number of M365 Setores such as manufacturing, retail and financial services are among the leading adopters of Microsoft’s AI solutions.

Security and trust as pillars of AI innovation

Vasu Jakkal, corporate vice president of Segurança at Microsoft, reiterated the importance of trust for the scalability of artificial intelligence. Para Jakkal, AI is not only used by IT professionals or development teams, but increasingly by business areas that create agents. Essa Democratization of AI, while powerful, also presents real risks if there are not the right tools to manage them.

Microsoft highlights that having a layer of security and governance for agents is a significant competitive advantage. The company has invested heavily in ensuring its AI solutions are secure by design, with robust enterprise data protection and identity and access management capabilities. Essa security-centric approach is essential for companies to confidently adopt artificial intelligence on a large scale, leveraging its full transformative potential without compromising the integrity and privacy of their data.
