A competition version based on a family station wagon has been confirmed to face the extreme challenges of the Nordschleife track on May 16th and 17th, 2026. Logistical execution and track management during the German race will be entrusted to Schubert Motorsport, a team with extensive experience in endurance races. The squad will be responsible for strategy, pit stops and technical adjustments during the event.

To maximize the potential of the new equipment, the manufacturer has assembled a list of official factory drivers. The confirmed line-up includes German Jens Klingmann, Belgian Ugo from Wilde and North American Conor from Filippi, forming a trio focused on maintaining consistent lap times throughout the night.

Due to its unique homologation status, the station wagon will be entered in the SPX category, reserved for special vehicles and prototypes that do not fall under standard class regulations. Esse positioning means the car will not compete directly for overall victory against SP9 class machines.

The strategy allows the engineering team to use the race as a high-speed laboratory, testing new technical solutions and collecting data on the body’s behavior under maximum stress. To meet the specific mechanical demands of the racing wagon, Yokohama Tire was selected as the official technical partner for tire supply. The Japanese manufacturer, which already maintains a collaborative relationship with the German manufacturer in several global championships, developed tailor-made compounds for this project.

The creation of these tires required laboratory analysis and track testing to account for the vehicle’s distinct center of gravity and altered weight transfer characteristics. The main objective was to ensure even wear and consistent grip levels over the 25 kilometers of each lap, allowing drivers to operate safely regardless of track temperature.

Six-cylinder engine performance on the track

The vehicle’s mechanical package uses an inline six-cylinder engine, a configuration that has served as the backbone of the sports division’s performance identity for decades.
