Jason Statham performed exclusive excerpts from THE Apicultor 2 during the Amazon MGM Studios presentation at CinemaCon. The actor appeared in a pre-recorded video as he put honey in tea and introduced scenes from the new action film.

The images show the character Adam Clay, played by Statham, facing a threat from the Apicultores organization itself. The secret group, responsible for protecting Estados Unidos above normal jurisdiction, rebelled and began eliminating anyone who crosses their path.

Apresentação at CinemaCon generates expectations

CinemaCon 2026 takes place between April 13th and 16th at Las Vegas and brings together film studios and exhibitors. On Wednesday, Amazon MGM Studios used the space to show material from future productions, including the video with Jason Statham.

The actor reprized the role of a former government assassin who appeared in the first film in the franchise. The new scenes highlight intense action sequences with the use of firearms, a flamethrower and bees as a central element. The material also advances the story by showing the character as a fugitive who continues his revenge.

Detalhes’s plot revealed in the images

Afterwards, Apicultores kidnapped the president of Estados Unidos. The character played by Jeremy Irons, Wallace Westwyld, a former CIA director, informs Clay that he is the only person capable of stopping the crisis.

The images shown include a chase along a forest road, an exchange of gunfire and an ambush at a mansion. Clay appears equipped with multiple machine guns and in direct confrontation with forces from the rebel organization. At one point, he resorts to using bees to resolve the situation.

The first film, released in 2024 and directed by David Ayer, followed Clay on a mission of personal revenge. The production grossed more than 160 million dollars at the worldwide box office. The sequel maintains part of the original cast and brings new names.

  • Jeremy Irons reprises the role of Wallace Westwyld
  • Emmy Raver-Lampman, Bobby Naderi and Jemma Redgrave return to their characters from the previous film
  • Yara Shahidi, Pom Klementieff and Adam Copeland join the cast as new additions

Direção and release confirmed

Timo Tjahjanto directs Apicultor 2. Amazon MGM Studios plans theatrical release for January 15, 2027 on Estados Unidos and Reino Unido. Na Alemanha, the debut is scheduled one day earlier, on January 14, 2027.

The material shown at CinemaCon serves to introduce exhibitors to the tone of the sequel and reinforce the commercial appeal of the franchise. The scenes emphasize fast-paced action and elements characteristic of Statham’s character, such as the practical use of bees both in combat and in other contexts.

Elenco and production maintain continuity

Parte from the original film’s technical and artistic team returns to preserve the story’s identity. The focus remains on Clay’s character, now on the run as he faces a large-scale internal threat.

The unpublished images do not reveal the outcome of the plot, but indicate an escalation in violence and scope in relation to the first feature. Estúdios and exhibitors present at the convention were able to assess box office potential based on the material shown.

What to expect from the sequel

The film should explore the conflict between Clay and the organization he once joined. With the kidnapping of the president as a starting point, the narrative moves towards direct confrontations and high-risk operations.

The production features the appeal of Statham as the main star and the mix of realistic action and more exaggerated elements, such as the use of bees in combat. The launch in January 2027 positions the title as an entertainment option at the beginning of the year.
