Ferrari introduced the 849 Testarossa as the successor to the SF90 Stradale. The plug-in hybrid model delivers a combined power of 1,050 hp.
The super sports car uses a 4.0 twin-turbo V8 engine coupled to three electric motors. In testing, it reaches 0 to 100 km/h in 2.3 seconds and 0 to 200 km/h in 6.4 seconds. The maximum speed exceeds 330 km/h.
Design mixes historical references and modern solutions
The body of the Ferrari 849 Testarossa features vertical and transverse lines inspired by prototypes from the 1970s. The front is reminiscent of models from the 1980s, with three-dimensional modeling on the doors and a single-piece aluminum alloy panel.
The Assetto Fiorano package includes striking white stripes and increases aerodynamic load. The package generates 415 kg of downforce at 250 km/h, 25 kg more than the previous model. The front lower part contributes 35% of this total force through cascade vortex generators.
The rear adopts a double tail architecture with two wing sections that take advantage of flows from the wheel arches. The active spoiler, integrated into the bodywork, switches modes in less than a second and weighs 2 kg less than the previous version.
- Dianteira redesigned with focus on lower airflow
- Three-pair vortex Geradores for aerodynamic loading
- Spoiler active rear with lighter mechanism
- Pacote Assetto Fiorano increases downforce by 25 kg
- Pneus options include Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R

Motor V8 evolves to record specific power
The 4.0 biturbo V8 block of the Ferrari 849 Testarossa produces 830 hp alone, a gain of 50 hp over the previous configuration. Specific power reaches 208 hp per liter thanks to new, larger turbochargers, redesigned cylinder heads and lighter materials such as titanium screws.
Três electric motors complete the system. Dois acts on the front wheels for all-wheel drive with torque vectoring. The third is on the rear axle. Juntos, they deliver another 220 hp. Combined torque reaches 102 kgfm, a new record for production Ferrari.
The weight/power ratio drops to 1.5 kg/hp. The curb weight is around 1,570 kg in the version with the Assetto Fiorano package. The lithium-ion battery has 7.45 kWh and allows 25 km of autonomy in pure electric mode, with speed limited to 130 km/h.
The eight-speed dual-clutch transmission transmits power to the rear wheels. In the test, the changes show calibration that maximizes sound intensity during reductions and accelerations.
Interior prioritizes minimalist competition cockpit
The cabin of the Ferrari 849 Testarossa mixes elements of a coupe with a single-seater cockpit. The steering wheel integrates digital and analog controls, with the red start button retained. Elementos in the shape of a sail on the doors and lower panel concentrate functions.
Bancos can have a carbon fiber shell or more comfortable ones. The front luggage space, with the mid-rear engine, offers 169 liters. Atrás from the seats there is another 122 liters for smaller items.
The driving mode selector is located on the steering wheel like eManettino inspired by Fórmula 1. Opções include eDrive, Híbrido, Performance and Qualificação. In electric mode, the car runs on front-wheel drive only.
Desempenho on the track and road shows balance
Testes on the circuit of Monteblanco, on Espanha, confirmed official numbers. The Ferrari 849 Testarossa completed the Fiorano lap in 1min17s5, 1.5s faster than the SF90 Stradale. Braking from 100 km/h to zero occurs in 28.5 meters.
On the road, the passive suspension offers good ride quality even without active shock absorbers on more extreme models. The Assetto Fiorano package adds front axle lift for urban use. Distribuição weight stands at 45:55.
The V8’s growl has been calibrated to resemble vintage V12 engines, with an emphasis on low and mid frequencies. At high speeds, close to 8,300 rpm, the sound gains intensity. The cooling system has been improved to handle the extra power without gaining weight.
- Aceleração 0-100 km/h in 2.3 s
- 0-200 km/h in 6.4 s
- Velocidade maximum speed above 330 km/h
- Volta on Fiorano: 1min17s5
- Downforce: 415 kg at 250 km/h
Ficha technician confirms specifications of the super sports car
The price starts at around 500 thousand euros at Europa. The tank is 68 liters. Pneus measure 265/35 R20 at the front and 325/30 ZR20 at the rear. Freios are carbon-ceramic discs.
Dimensões include 4.72 m long, 1.99 m wide and 1.23 m high. The suspension uses overlapping arms at the front and multilink at the rear.
Recarga of the battery occurs only in alternating current, with a maximum power of 7 kW. Complete Tempo takes around 1h15min. Consumo mixed WLTP is 10.8 km/l.
The Ferrari 849 Testarossa hits the market in 2026 as a high-performance option that balances raw power with everyday drivability. The model respects the historic name without directly copying the 80s design.
