Nintendo has confirmed a robust release calendar for May 2026, with nine different titles coming to the Switch and Switch 2 consoles. The month will be marked by a diversity of genres, including narrative adventures, simulators, action RPGs and challenging puzzles. Releases begin at the beginning of the month and continue until the end, offering varied options for different types of players.

Mixtape and Indie Jones mark first fortnight

The month opens with Mixtape, which arrives exclusively for Switch 2 on May 7th. The title is an interactive adventure that follows three friends on their last journey together, featuring cinematic scenes and an immersive narrative that explores unforgettable moments of youth.

On May 12, two titles arrive simultaneously. Indie Jones and the Great Circle puts the player in the role of a renowned archaeologist who faces ancient mysteries, solves puzzles and explores secret locations around the world. Este will be exclusive to Switch 2. On the same day, Call of the Old Gods offers an experience immersed in a Lovecraftian atmosphere, combining mysterious narrative with puzzle challenges as the explorer uncovers ancient secrets that transcend time.

Simuladores and exploration gain ground in the second week

Starting May 14, two titles focus on simulation and customization. Downhill offers an experience centered around bike mechanics and customization, transforming the vehicle into an explorable utopian home. The system allows solo or cooperative players to set their own pace of progress with complete freedom.

Farming Simulator 26: Nintendo Switch Edition follows on May 19, available only on the original console. Este simulator offers realistic rural life experiences including operating farm machinery, using specialized equipment, earning wages with dedicated machines, and caring for domestic animals that include newborn puppies.

RPGs and complex narratives dominate the end of the month

  • Yoshi and the Mysterious Book (May 21) — exclusive to Switch 2
  • Tokyo Coffee Chat (May 21) — both consoles
  • Tales of ARISE: After Dawn Edition (May 22) — exclusive to Switch 2
  • Bubsy 4D (May 22) — both consoles

Yoshi and the Mysterious Book invites the player to leaf through pages full of sound narratives, unraveling mysteries through new exploration mechanics and curious characters that open paths for interactive adventures. Tokyo Coffee Chat places the player behind the counter of a coffee shop, preparing personalized drinks, decorating with stencils and building relationships with human and supernatural customers, forming the title’s narrative structure.

Tales of ARISE: After Dawn Edition is an action RPG centered around Alphen, a character incapable of feeling pain, and Shionne, who carries a sword that hurts anyone who touches it. Esta edition includes the base game and the expansion Beyond the Dawn, expanding the original narrative. Bubsy 4D marks the return of a classic platform character with an infectious soundtrack, including jumping through stages, sliding through space, fighting sheep robots and collecting wool in a renewed nostalgic experience.

Estratégia launch reflects cross-platform support

The schedule strategically divides titles between platforms. Cinco releases come exclusively to Switch 2 during the initial period, strengthening the library of new hardware and promoting adoption. Quatro titles launch simultaneously on both consoles, maintaining continued support for the original Switch, which continues to receive new games. Farming Simulator 26 remains exclusive to the previous console.

The diversity of genres reflects Nintendo’s commitment to satisfying varied player profiles throughout May. Immersive Narrativas, detailed simulators, action RPGs and challenging puzzles make up a robust portfolio that consolidates the company’s cross-platform support during this period of transition between hardware generations.
