Samsung has confirmed that the stable release of One UI 8.5 will begin on May 8, ending one of the longest testing periods in the South Korean manufacturer’s recent history. The update had missed its initial deadline of late April, sparking speculation about possible technical issues during development. The company plans to publish an official timeline in the Samsung Members app before rolling out, informing users of specific dates for each region and device model.

Galaxy S25 receives priority in update calendar

The Galaxy S25 series handsets will lead the queue to receive One UI 8.5, followed by the Galaxy Z foldables Flip 7 and Fold 7. Rollout could begin first on the Coreia and Sul on May 6, with expansion to global markets occurring within a week. No Brasil, Galaxy S25 should receive the update at the end of May, following the staggered release pattern that Samsung adopts for high-volume updates.

The gradual rollout strategy reflects the impossibility of releasing the software simultaneously to all devices. A moderator from the Samsung Canadá community pointed out that a mass launch for a wide range of models is unlikely, indicating market and carrier dependent delays. Essa approach allows the company to monitor stability and collect feedback before expanding to an even larger user base.

Previous Modelos face longer wait

The Galaxy S24 line and devices from the Galaxy A family will have to wait until the end of May or beginning of June to receive One UI 8.5. Essa release sequence reflects Samsung’s priority to distribute the software first to its newer, more premium devices before expanding to older, more affordable models. The strategy reduces the risk of mass issues and allows for quick adjustments if necessary during the distribution process.

Beta record marks prolonged development

One UI 8.5 has reached the tenth test build on Galaxy S25, marking the longest beta for Samsung in recent years. Toda this delay in stable release makes this version basically coincide with the release of One UI 9.0 with Android 17, significantly reducing the useful life of this intermediate update. The successive delays have generated speculation among users and analysts, although Samsung has not provided official explanations as to the reasons for the previous delays.

  • May 6-8: Initial launch on Coreia of Sul and possible expansion to select global markets.
  • May Final: Galaxy S25 in markets like Brasil and other regions.
  • Final from May to early June: Galaxy S24 and Galaxy A line.
  • Later Expansão: other Samsung models after completion of initial waves.

Cronograma phase distribution ensures quality

Samsung remains focused on ensuring quality before the final release, even in the face of delays. The phased distribution model allows the company to reduce operational risks and implement quick fixes if problems arise during the process. Usuários in different countries will face different timelines based on regional and commercial factors, a pattern entrenched in the mobile technology industry’s high-volume updates.
