Apple plans to transform Siri into a chatbot-style assistant for iOS 27, according to a report published by Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman. The reformulation will be fully implemented in the next version of the operating system, postponing the debut that was originally scheduled for iOS 18.4. watchOS 27, internally codenamed “Orchid”, will bring new modular dials based on the Apple Watch Ultra design, expanding visual options for other models in the line.
Apple’s artificial intelligence will be the central highlight of iOS 27, known internally as “Rave”. Melhorias in the Fotos and Câmera apps will gain AI-powered editing capabilities, while the overall system interface will not undergo radical changes like those seen in previous updates. Stability will be a key priority in the development of this version.
Siri gains ChatGPT-like interface on iOS 27
The virtual assistant will be reimagined as a standalone application, similar to ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude. The interface will adopt a minimalist layout with a black background, text fields for queries and attachments, as well as a topic format reminiscent of messaging conversations. Usuários will be able to execute multiple commands with a single instruction, expanding the wizard’s functionality.
The new Siri will work in two different modes:

Modular Mostradores arrives in watchOS 27
The new modular dial will be based on the “Modular Ultra”, currently exclusive to the Apple Watch Ultra, but adapted to work on other models such as the Apple Watch Series 11. The design features a large hour display taking up approximately two-thirds of the screen, with three complications displayed side by side at the bottom.
Diferentemente from Modular Ultra, the new dial eliminates the top and center complications as well as the display around the edge, resulting in a more streamlined setup. If confirmed, it will be the first new dial in a long time to allow flexible arrangement of multiple complications on models other than the top of the line.
Câmera and Fotos gain artificial intelligence powers
The iOS 27 Fotos app will include or enhance artificial intelligence-based editing features such as “Imagem Enhancement”, “Imagem Fix”, and “Composição Readjustment”. Estes tools will allow automatic adjustments to captured photos, improving quality and composition without the need for complex manual editing.
The Câmera will undergo a reformulation of the Inteligência Visual, with the addition of a new Siri mode. Unlike previous updates that introduced radical interface changes, such as iOS 26’s “Liquid Glass”, iOS 27 will prioritize refinement and stability. Gurman reports that no major visual redesigns of the operating system should be expected, signaling a more conservative approach for the next version.
The strategy reflects Apple’s current pattern of consolidating artificial intelligence functionalities into its systems. The deep integration of AI into native apps and assistants sets the corporate direction for upcoming releases, with a focus on practical utility and cross-device compatibility across the ecosystem.
