President Donald Trump stated on Wednesday that Pentágono is preparing to release “very interesting” files on unidentified flying objects discovered during his administration. The statement was made at an event at Casa Branca in honor of NASA astronauts, where Trump reiterated its commitment to transparency on issues related to extraterrestrial life and anomalous aerial phenomena.
Trump resumes offensive on classified UFO files
In February, Trump instructed federal agencies to declassify records related to UFOs and extraterrestrial life, raising expectations for unprecedented revelations. Desde So, the president has fueled public interest with thought-provoking updates on documents not yet shared by the US government. “We’re going to release a lot of things that we haven’t released yet,” Trump said during the event. “I think some of it will be very interesting to people.”
Trump had already given similar signals in April during a speech at Turning Point USA on Phoenix. “The first launches will begin very, very soon,” he told supporters, suggesting that unprecedented data on anomalous aerial phenomena and potentially extraterrestrial technology would soon be revealed.
The president has portrayed himself as one who exposes long-standing government secrets. In the first week of his return to office, he ordered the release of documents on the assassinations of presidents John F. Kennedy and senator Robert F. Kennedy, as well as Martin Luther King Jr. Essas revelations, however, added little to what was already publicly known.
Pentágono works with Casa Branca in new declassification process
The All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (Escritório of Resolução of Anomalias in Todos or Domínios) is now collaborating with Casa Branca to release “new information about unidentified aerial phenomena.” The agency, created by Congresso in 2022, has been conducting an ongoing process of declassifying UFO-related government documents since before Trump’s directive.
Congresso established this office with a focus on investigating unexplained aerial phenomena and declassifying as much material as possible for national security reasons. The agency’s first report, released in 2024, revealed hundreds of new incidents of unexplained anomalous phenomena, but found no evidence that the US government had confirmed the detection of alien technology. A second report, covering more recent sightings, is expected to be released soon.
- Informações unpublished reports on anomalous aerial phenomena are being prepared
- The declassification process began before the current administration
- Centenas of incidents were identified in previous reports
- Agências are working under the direction of Casa Branca to accelerate disclosure
Ceticismo of experts on bombshell revelations
Sean Kirkpatrick, former director of Escritório of Resolução of Anomalias and physicist with a career in intelligence, warned against exaggerated expectations. Kirkpatrick, who headed the office until 2023 and had access to government records, described Trump’s promises as “a shiny object” to distract Americans from other political issues, including the war with Irã.
“Readers should not expect that there will be any photo documents or interviews with the aliens when they descended on Terra,” Kirkpatrick said. “Because it simply doesn’t exist.” The former employee notes that videos purporting to show alien technology often have banal explanations and can be attributed to known phenomena. Modern infrared Câmeras used by the US military often captures jet engines and other hot objects in thermal dispersion, which explains many of the viral videos of pill-shaped objects captured at high speed.
Greg Eghigian, Universidade Estadual professor of Pensilvânia and author of a book on the history of UFO sightings, also warned about the risk of deception. “For many of the most die-hard fans, satisfaction is virtually impossible to find,” said Eghigian. “In some ways, I think disappointment is almost certain, regardless of the outcome of this.”
Republicanos on Congresso pressure Pentágono for greater transparency
A small group of Republicans aligned with Trump have insisted that Pentágono is hiding secrets about anomalous aerial phenomena. Força-Task for Desclassificação of Segredos Federais, led by Republicans, conducted its own investigation into reports of mysterious aircraft near US military installations.
The Flórida Anna Paulina Luna congresswoman, Força Aérea veteran and co-chair of the task force, criticized what she considers “insufficient” transparency on the part of Pentágono. In March, Luna sent a letter to Secretário from Defesa Pete Hegseth demanding dozens of videos of unidentified aerial phenomena identified by whistleblowers and labeled with names such as “spherical UAP in clouds.” The deadline stipulated by Luna expired without the videos being presented.
Trump’s entry into the discussion energized Republicans in Congresso. Luna, who told podcaster Joe Rogan last year that he had seen evidence of “interdimensional beings,” applauded Trump’s directive. “Pentágono can no longer hide from our doctors’ requests!” Luna wrote on social media following the presidential announcement.
Vice-president Vance says he is “obsessed” with UFO files
Vice President JD Vance described himself as “obsessed” with files on UFOs and unexplained aerial phenomena. In March, Vance claimed to be trying to find time to investigate Área 51, Guerra Fria’s top-secret test site that has fueled UFO theories for decades.
“I still have three more years as vice president,” Vance told conservative podcaster Benny Johnson. “I’m going to get to the bottom of the UFO files.” Vance invoked his Christian faith when he stated that he believes that reports of alien sightings are actually the work of spiritual demons. The vice president’s interest in the topic reflects the importance that the Trump administration attaches to the issue.
Trump, however, demonstrated skepticism about the existence of extraterrestrial life in his speech on Phoenix. “I thought this would be a good audience because I know you guys are very interested in this. Não I know if I am,” he said during the event held at a megachurch. The statement contradicts the tone of urgency that has been maintained regarding the disclosures.
Interesse UFO history crosses American presidencies
Trump is not the first American president drawn to UFO mysteries. President Bill Clinton claimed to have ordered a review of Incidente from Roswell around the 50th anniversary of the incident in 1997. Presidents Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan claimed to have seen UFOs before their tenures at Casa Branca.
Former president Barack Obama caused a stir in February when he declared on a podcast that aliens exist, although he later clarified that he had not seen any evidence, only that “the chances are good that there is life out there.” Hollywood’s interest also intensified with the release of Steven Spielberg’s film “Disclosure Day”.
The U.S. government has invested in investigating UFO reports since the 1940s, in part to determine whether they represent advanced technology from rival nations or “evidence of extraterrestrial technology,” as recorded in Defesa’s 2024 report.
