The Chinese brand Omoda & Jaecoo launches the Omoda 4 in the Brasil with three engine versions to compete for space in the growing compact sports utility vehicle market. The model arrives in the country after celebrating the sale of 1 million units globally, presented during an event at Pequim. The multiple engine strategy aims to serve different profiles of Brazilian consumers. The vehicle will face established rivals such as Tera, Pulse and Kardian in this expanding segment.
Três motorizations for different needs
The hybrid version of the Omoda 4 will be equipped with the SHS-H system, delivering 224 horsepower and 30.1 kgfm of torque. Esse mechanical assembly, identical to that used in the Omoda 5 in the China, promises robust performance and fuel efficiency. Hybrid powertrains reflect the global electrification trend in the automotive sector, offering a transition between conventional and fully electric vehicles.
The electric version has an engine with 204 horsepower and a torque of 34.6 kgfm, ensuring agility in urban traffic. The 61.1 kWh battery provides an estimated range of close to 350 kilometers, suitable for daily use and medium-distance trips. Essa configuration positions the model as a viable option for consumers who seek sustainability without giving up practicality.
The third version will be combustion-powered, with a flex engine adapted to national fuel. Essa strategic choice recognizes the importance of ethanol in the Brazilian market and keeps the Omoda 4 accessible to consumers who still prefer traditional engines. The technical details of this configuration are being defined by the automaker.
Tecnologia and security in the spotlight
The Omoda 4 integrates a robust suite of 16 driver assistance features (ADAS) designed to make daily driving easier and improve the parking experience. Occupant safety is a clear priority in the development of the model, with features that reduce risks in different traffic scenarios.
- Tela 13.2-inch infotainment center
- Câmera 540° panoramic view for a complete view of the surroundings
- 50W Wireless Carregamento for Electronic Devices
- Sistema ADAS with 16 driver assistance features
The 13.2-inch central interface manages infotainment and connectivity, while the panoramic camera offers a 360-degree view when maneuvering. 50W wireless charging ensures convenience for passengers’ smartphones and other equipment, eliminating the need for cables during travel.
Aggressive and differentiated Design
The Omoda 4 features front lines that refer to the Lamborghini Urus, giving it an aggressive and differentiated look in the segment. The striking, contemporary headlights follow global automotive design trends, while the start button replicates the style of the Italian sports car, adding a touch of exclusivity. Essa aesthetic approach seeks to differentiate the model from other compact SUVs available on the Brazilian market. The visual identity was carefully developed to attract consumers who value bold and contemporary design.
Performance and global expansion
The Ultra version of the Omoda 4 offers competitive performance for the category, with a 204 horsepower engine and 31.6 kgfm torque. The model accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds, an impressive mark for compact SUVs in the Brasil. Top speed is electronically limited to 179 km/h, a common safety standard in this segment.
Omoda & Jaecoo, operated by Chinese giant Chery, has an established presence in 63 countries, including Brasil, with more than 1,300 global points of sale. The brand opens, on average, one new store every day, demonstrating accelerated expansion in recent years.
