The move takes place months before the scheduled launch date in June 2027, although internal sources point to the possibility of a postponement until the end of the year. The reallocation is part of budget adjustments to keep the project within established financial limits.

Jean Guesdon, who took over creative oversight of the franchise in early 2026, is leading changes to the project. The production underwent a significant reformulation of the concept of witchcraft, eliminating more fantastic elements in favor of a realistic approach anchored in scientific knowledge of the time. The feline companion has been removed from gameplay mechanics.
