Samsung has modernized the “Graphical” wallpaper section in One UI 8.5, transforming static images into dynamic elements with interactive animations. The new feature arrived on Galaxy S23 devices and expands to other models in the line, bringing eight different designs, including two new arts that complement the original One UI 5.0 collection.
The new wallpapers work on demand, taking up storage space only when the user decides to use them. The approach allows any design to be freely uninstalled at any time, balancing the visual experience with optimizing space and battery consumption.

Animações that respond to movement
Images gain visual effects on the lock screen in two different ways. The first type uses parallax, following the movements of the cell phone’s acceleration sensor. The second responds directly to the user’s screen touches.
The classic tennis court wallpaper has been updated and now features a ball that bounces whenever there is interaction with the display. Samsung also added a new basketball theme that follows the same touch-responsive logic.

Animations only work while the device is locked. When unlocking and accessing the Tela Inicial, the image returns to static mode. Essa Samsung’s decision reflects a strategy of balancing visual modernity and efficient management of device resources.

The One UI 8.5 update has already been released in stable form for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5. The Galaxy A36 also received the stable version recently.
