Japanese manufacturer Citizen has officially launched two new quartz chronograph watches in its international catalogue. The AN8193-02H and AN8197-52E models arrive on the market with a focus on high durability and traditional mechanical precision, sharing the same internal movement and robust structure for daily use.
Ambos use the Citizen Calibre 0520, a quartz movement powered by an SR626SW battery with an autonomy of up to 24 months. The integrated circuit works in a classic configuration with three analogue sub-dials at the 3, 6 and 9 o’clock positions, integrating a stopwatch, calendar with date window and 24-hour display.
Construção robust and water resistance
Both models have symmetrical stainless steel cases with a diameter of 42.0 mm and a hardened mineral glass crystal. The chassis seal guarantees water resistance up to 100 meters deep, equivalent to 10 ATM certification. Cada variant incorporates a tachymetric scale engraved on the outer rim of the bezel for temporal displacement-based average speed measurements.
Citizen has not included support for radio signal reception in this product line. The robust finish of the internal and external components reflects the brand’s technical standard for watches for continuous use, minimizing preventive maintenance during the warranty period.
Estética classic versus sporty design
The AN8193-02H model adopts a classic and social approach, with a stainless steel case in gold PVD finish. The dial features a subtle dark charcoal texture with hands and indexes matching the gold tone of the chassis. The date window is positioned at 4 o’clock, finished with a genuine leather strap with a brown crocodile texture.
The AN8197-52E variant focuses on purely sporting aesthetics. The integrated stainless steel case and bracelet are matte black PVD coated, creating an aggressive contrast with gold hands and markers. The integrated construction of the metal bracelet adds extra weight and increases mechanical resistance against twisting from rotational movement.
