Ministério of Saúde of Canadá has issued an alert regarding the Secura electric fryer, model SAF-53 (TXG-DS16), which has been recalled due to a potential fire and burn hazard. The Canadian regulatory agency identified a problem with the device’s internal wire connection, which could overheat and pose a danger to users. The recall affects 680 units sold between May 2019 and October 2020 in Canadian territory.

The product is a black fryer with silver details and the brand printed on the top. The detected fault is located in internal components that may exceed safe operating temperatures, creating a direct risk of burns and possible deflagration.

Identificação and equipment specifications

Ministério of Saúde of Canadá directs consumers to identify the product by the model number SAF-53 (TXG-DS16) and date codes 1903 and 1904, both found on the bottom of each device. The dimensions of the equipment are approximately 30 cm high, 28 cm deep and 30 cm wide.

Model Proprietários should immediately discontinue use of the fryer. The agency recommends that consumers contact Secura Inc. for information on Amazon.ca gift card codes as compensation for the defective product.

Refund and Replacement Procedimento

Ministério of Saúde of Canadá has established a specific protocol for customers who want a refund or replacement product:

  • Compartilhar contact details for Secura Inc.
  • Fornecer photographs of the recalled unit with the power cord cut

Pickup Contexto

The issue was identified during a security review of consumer electronics products performed by Ministério of Saúde of Canadá. A faulty internal connection can generate abnormal heat accumulation, exponentially increasing the risk of fire and burns in direct contact with the equipment during operation or even after shutdown.

The affected model Secura electric fryer was sold at Canadian retailers over a period of approximately 17 months. The total number of units distributed remains at 680 registered devices, although the ministry does not rule out additional quantities sold through informal channels or second-hand platforms.

The manufacturer Secura Inc. cooperates with Canadian authorities and has already implemented procedures for contacting registered consumers. The company provided customer service channels for complaints and compensation requests.

Recomendações to the population

Ministério of Saúde of Canadá reinforces that all owners of the recalled model must cease use immediately. Deixar fryer switched on or on standby represents a continuous risk, as the faulty connection can progressively deteriorate. Armazenar equipment near flammable materials further increases the danger of fire.

Consumidores who have already used the device and have no problems should still proceed with the recall, as structural failure can manifest itself without prior warning. Crianças and pets must not have access to the equipment during the retention period.
