Samsung presented a new function that integrates its wearable devices with smart air conditioners from the WindFree line. The feature, called “WindFree Wearable: Good Sleep”, allows the Galaxy Watch or Galaxy Ring to detect sleep patterns and automatically adjust the room temperature without requiring manual user intervention.

The air conditioning equipment will be available from 2026 and will work in sync with the technology in the Samsung wearables. Quando the device detects the onset of sleep, sends a signal to the air conditioning to activate the Cooling WindFree function, which regulates the temperature according to data collected by the watch or smart ring.

Como works device integration

The system operates in layers. The Galaxy Watch or Galaxy Ring collects continuous information about the user’s sleeping patterns throughout the night. Essas information is processed and sent to the air conditioner connected via a local network. The equipment then automatically adjusts the room climate to ideal conditions, maintaining a consistent temperature that promotes rest.

The function eliminates the need for constant manual adjustments. Diferentemente From traditional systems, where the user needs to manually change the temperature during the night, the WindFree Wearable operates autonomously, responding to physiological data captured by the wearable.

Configuração and access requirements

The first step is to download the SmartThings app on the wearable device. Next, the air conditioner needs to be connected to the home’s Wi-Fi network. Após this connection, the user accesses the “Sleep well with smart devices” menu through the Galaxy Watch app to activate and configure the feature.

Existe also offers an alternative path: through the menu Configurações > Modos and routines > Sono, the user can access the same configuration options. Ambos paths lead to the same customization settings.

Para to use the function, three prerequisites are mandatory:

  • Estar using a compatible Samsung wearable device (Galaxy Watch or Galaxy Ring)
  • Possuir, a WindFree air conditioner equipped with AI
  • Ter the SmartThings application installed and functional on the wearable

The Samsung Health and Sleep Ecosystem

The announcement fits into Samsung’s broader strategy around wellbeing monitoring. The company’s wearables already collect data on heart rate, stress levels and sleep quality. The new feature transforms this information into automated actions in the user’s physical environment.

The initiative demonstrates how manufacturers are expanding beyond data collection. Agora seek to create ecosystems where devices communicate with each other to generate personalized experiences. In the case of sleep, integration eliminates the user’s cognitive work during moments when rest is a priority.

Availability in 2026 suggests that Samsung is still finalizing cross-platform compatibility and refining the algorithms that determine optimal temperatures. The launch will be simultaneous between the wearables and the new WindFree air conditioners with integrated AI.
