Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra in the third quarter of 2026 with a price adjustment in relation to the current model. Conforme industry rumors, the new foldable will be positioned around US$100 more expensive than the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which debuted in the US for US$2,000. The biggest impact will be on versions with 512 GB and 1 TB of storage.

The reformulation in the nomenclature of the foldable line also marks strategic changes. The successor to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be called Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, while an unreleased model in passport format will be called Galaxy Z Fold 8, abandoning the previously speculated Galaxy Z Fold Wide nomenclature.

Reposicionamento and price justification

Informant Ice Universe stated that the change to Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra directly reflects the value of the device. The publication suggested that “the only explanation is that the price became even more ‘Ultra'”, highlighting the premium positioning strategy. The increase in component costs and the strengthening of the premium segment of foldable devices support readjustment expectations among analysts.

No Brasil, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 was launched starting at R$ 14,599 without a 256 GB version. The projected values for the new model have not yet been officially confirmed.

Esse new screen size represents a significant change in the visual architecture of the foldable.

According to leaks from Android Headlines, Samsung revamps the series’ visual approach, abandoning the traditional extended design.
