Arsenal will end a 22-year wait for the Premier League title with a celebratory parade through the streets of Islington this Sunday. The official celebration is scheduled for 2pm (British Summer Time), involving four open-top buses. The club’s men’s and women’s teams will take part in the festive event. The women’s team will display the FIFA Copa Campeões Femininos cup, won earlier this season. The men’s team hopes the parade will also mark a victory in Campeões’s Liga. Eles will face Paris Saint-Germain in the final at Budapeste on Saturday, less than 24 hours before the show at Londres.

Celebração of the title and European expectations

The victory at Premier League ends a long period of fasting for Arsenal, which had not won the championship since the 2003-04 season, when they became known as the “Invincibles”. Esta’s achievement is a significant milestone for the club and its fans, who have been eagerly awaiting this moment. The celebration in the streets of Islington is an opportunity for the community and fans to come together and celebrate the team’s success.

Mikel Arteta and his male cast have the chance to turn the celebration into an even bigger feat. Campeões’s Liga final precedes the parade, creating an atmosphere of great anticipation. The union of the men’s and women’s teams in the parade symbolizes the club’s strength and cohesion on all its competition fronts. Copa of FIFA’s Campeões Femininos, already guaranteed, adds a special shine to Sunday’s parade.

Percurso detailed parade in Islington

The trophy parade will cover an approximately eight kilometer (five mile) circuit by Islington. The route was planned to pass through areas such as Highbury, Canonbury and Upper Street, before returning to the Emirates Stadium region. Este route aims to maximize visibility for fans, allowing as many people as possible to participate in the festivities.

Partindo from the stadium, buses will follow a specific route. Streets to be walked include:

  • Holloway Road (via Drayton Park)
  • Seven Sisters Road (eastward)
  • Blackstock Road
  • Mount Grove Road
  • Green Lanes (continuing south)
  • Petherton Road
  • Beresford Road
  • Newington Green Road (Southward)
  • Essex Road (before turning north)
  • Upper Street (main shopping street)
  • Retorno to Holloway Road (near station Highbury & Islington)
  • Retorno to Emirates Stadium

Emirates Stadium, Drayton Park and the immediately adjacent streets will be isolated, functioning as no-access zones for pedestrians. The club advises fans not to gather at the stadium, at Hornsey Road, Benwell Road or Drayton Park, as the teams will not be visible from these locations. Highbury Fields, located within the circuit, close to the Highbury & Islington station, is one of the areas where a large concentration of people is expected. The closest metro and train stations to the route include Finsbury Park, Arsenal, Holloway Road, Highbury & Islington and Angel.

Restrições access and transport to the event

Câmara Municipal of Islington will implement street closures and parking suspensions on several streets in the district. Essas restrictions will begin at 4am on Sunday morning and are expected to last until approximately 8pm. The measures, however, can be extended for longer if the situation requires. Todas the streets along the parade route, including the side roads leading to it, will be affected by these prohibitions.

Signage indicating the restrictions began to be installed on Tuesday. Não will be permitted to park on the route or in the side streets from 4am on Sunday, and any vehicles left on site will be removed. Não Parking is available at Emirates Stadium. Transport for London (TfL) and National Rail advise passengers to check timetables and plan their journeys in advance, allowing extra time. Algumas metro and train stations close to the route may be closed or operate with restrictions on stops and exits after the event. Diversas bus routes will have their routes altered to accommodate the parade.

Medidas security and guidance for fans

The event is being held with the assistance of Conselho of Islington, Transport for London (TfL), Polícia Metropolitana and other emergency services. Haverá a strong presence of club inspectors throughout the entire route, with barriers and cordons to ensure the safety of participants. Espera also saw an increase in police presence in the areas affected by the parade.

Sinalizadores, fireworks and other pyrotechnic devices are strictly prohibited during the celebration. Arsenal asked fans not to climb or attach anything to scaffolding, trees, lampposts, statues, railings or street furniture. Raising awareness among younger fans, families, people with disabilities and local residents is critical to the success of the event. First aid Postos will be marked and available along the route for quick assistance. At the end of the parade, the roads will reopen as soon as it is safe to do so, probably around 8pm, but the local transport network will take time to return to normal. The club suggests that fans walk from the immediate area before taking transport to continue their journey.

Calendário international influenced the date of the parade

The choice of Sunday for the parade was largely dictated by the international calendar. Muitos Arsenal players have commitments with their national teams and are expected to report on Monday, June 1st. Essas presentations are in preparation for Mundo’s Copa, which will begin on Estados Unidos, Canadá and México on June 11th.

Essa tight schedule leaves players and fans with little time to prepare for the parade after the trip to Budapeste. Campeões’s Liga final, which will be played on Budapeste, is scheduled to start at 5pm (Brasília time) on Saturday. The proximity between the European final and the Londres parade reflects the complexity of coordinating large-scale events amid an intense international sporting calendar.
