Samsung started selling the Galaxy A57 5G, a device aimed at the intermediate segment that focuses on compact dimensions and reduced weight. The model was initially made available on the Japão market at the end of April, with an official price of 79,800 yen. The equipment maintains the visual identity of the line, but presents refinements in thickness to compete with other options in the price range equivalent to 500 dollars.

The arrival of the device reinforces the South Korean manufacturer’s strategy of offering premium features on more affordable cell phones. Analistas technology points out that the device delivers a consistent technical suite, driven by a new processor and software optimizations. The launch, however, generates debates about the need for an immediate update for users who already have the previous generation, as hardware changes are specific.

Estrutura physics and materials used in the new device

The design of the Galaxy A57 5G stands out for its thickness of just 6.9 millimeters and a total weight of 179 grams. Esses numbers place the smartphone in a position of ergonomic advantage when compared to direct competitors in the same segment. The Pixel 10a, for example, has a smaller 6.3-inch screen, but weighs 183 grams and is 9 millimeters thick. Outros models such as the Nothing Phone 4a Pro and the OnePlus 15R have superior measurements, with 210 grams and 213 grams, respectively, in addition to thicknesses that exceed 7.9 millimeters.

The construction of the chassis involves a glossy rear finish, sold in navy blue, gray, lilac and ice blue. Lighter shades can convey a sophisticated visual sensation, although the surface easily retains signs of use. The durability of the equipment is reinforced by the application of Gorilla Glass Victus+ glass on both the front and rear. The device also has IP68 certification, which certifies resistance against water and dust in specific submersion conditions. The choice for a completely flat screen favors grip during prolonged use, differentiating the model from devices that adopt curved side edges.

Especificações Screen and Processing Capacity

The front panel uses Super AMOLED technology with 6.7 inches and a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. The screen offers a 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring fluid navigation and system animations, as well as support for the HDR10+ standard for greater contrast in compatible videos. The edges around the display have been reduced, creating a proportion of frontal use that resembles cell phones from higher categories. Visibility in direct sunlight remains adequate, although the glass presents a moderate level of reflection in bright outdoor environments.

Biometric security is managed by a fingerprint reader positioned under the screen. The component records fingerprints accurately, but tests indicate a slight delay between the user’s touch and the actual unlocking of the interface. Data processing is carried out by the Exynos 1680 chip, developed by Samsung itself. The component represents an incremental advance in relation to the Exynos 1580 present in the Galaxy A56. Improvements in the central processing unit, graphics chip and neural processing unit deliver performance gains that guarantee stability, but which may go unnoticed in routine tasks.

Principais technical characteristics of the device

The smartphone’s set of specifications reflects the manufacturer’s attempt to balance cost and benefit in the current market. The integration of updated components aims to extend the useful life of the device in the hands of the consumer.

Abaixo contains the technical data that make up the hardware and software of the equipment:

  • Tela Super 6.7-inch AMOLED with 120Hz and HDR10+ support
  • Processador Exynos 1680 with new integrated Processador Sinal Imagem
  • 5000mAh Bateria with 45W fast charging support
  • Main Câmera with specifications maintained from the previous generation
  • Peso total weight of 179 grams and reduced thickness of 6.9 millimeters
  • Structural Proteção with IP68 certification and Gorilla Glass Victus+ glass
  • Interface One UI 8.5 operating under Android 16 system
  • Garantia six generations of system updates and six years of security packages

The combination of these elements allows the cell phone to run messaging applications, social networks and video platforms without experiencing crashes. The use of geolocation and corporate communication tools also occurs fluidly.

Autonomia battery and image processing

The device’s energy capacity is supported by a 5000mAh battery, the same volume found in the previous year’s model. The efficiency of the new processor, however, results in extended autonomy during daily use. Consumidores that keep the screen active for periods between eight and ten hours can reach the night period with around ten percent charge remaining. The power system supports 45W chargers, allowing the battery to jump from twenty to one hundred percent in approximately sixty minutes, a recharge time equivalent to that of the Galaxy S26 Plus.

In the photographic department, the manufacturer chose to maintain the main sensor from the previous generation, transferring responsibility for improvement to the software. The new Processador Sinal Imagem built into the Exynos 1680 optimizes light capture and color definition. The photographs generated are of superior quality, compensating for the absence of new physical components in the camera. The device’s thermal control also demonstrates effectiveness. Durante evaluations carried out in environments with high temperatures, the smartphone registered moderate heating, without this causing a forced reduction in the processor’s performance.

Sistema operational and manufacturer’s update policy

The smartphone’s virtual environment is managed by the One UI 8.5 interface, which runs on the Android 16 base. Navigation through the menus is intuitive, and the manufacturer ensures a long support cycle, with six years of guaranteed security updates. The system demonstrates operational stability, but the number of Samsung and Microsoft applications installed at the factory takes up space and generates initial visual pollution. Most of these programs can be deactivated or uninstalled by the user immediately after the device’s primary configuration.

Alguns software features exhibit intrusive behavior, as is the case with the Glance tool. The system displays content generated by artificial intelligence directly on the lock screen and continues to change wallpapers even after being deactivated in the main settings. The device provides access to Gemini, from Google, and Bixby, from Samsung, virtual assistants. Using the Bixby, however, requires a constant internet connection even to execute basic commands on the system, such as activating dark mode, preventing local control of the phone’s functions.
