The film “Dreams of Violets” presents a fictional dramatization about the mass murder of civilians by the Iranian government. The tragic event, which occurred in January, is the central focus of the narrative developed by the creators. Relatórios journalistic reports, photographs and witness reports served as foundations for the creation of the story. Essa approach allowed us to build a detailed and immersive narrative about the context of the incident.
Criação and cost of the pioneering work of the Koosha brothers
The production of “Dreams of Violets” was led by brothers Ash and Pooya Koosha, who left Irã in 2009. Pooya Koosha is co-founder of Fountain 0, the company responsible for developing the film. Ash Koosha serves as CEO of the same company. The total cost of the project was estimated at just US$2,000.
Fountain 0 highlights that “Dreams of Violets” is the first AI-generated feature-length live-action film to be accepted into the main lineup of a major film festival. Isso represents a significant milestone for the industry.
- Artificial Inteligências used:
* Nano Banana, from Google:used in creating static images.
* Kling AI:used for generating video sequences.
* Claude, from Anthropic:applied to language and script editing.
Outra’s AI production, “Hell Grind”, was shown on Cannes’s Festival, but at a side event, outside of the official schedule.
Avanço of artificial intelligence in Hollywood and challenges for the sector
Artificial intelligence has been gaining ground in Hollywood in recent months. Netflix, for example, has adopted technology strategically. The platform created an AI-based animation studio and also acquired an AI startup from Ben Affleck. Paralelamente’s Prime Video has commissioned three animated series produced entirely using the new technology, indicating a growing trend.
Apesar of expansion, not all initiatives are immediately successful. The film “Critterz”, developed with OpenAI’s Sora tool – currently discontinued – is facing difficulties in finding a new artificial intelligence partner. Isso highlights the challenges inherent to rapid evolution and technological instability in this emerging sector.
The Koosha brothers, aware of the impact of technology, spoke out about the concerns in the film industry. “We fully understand the very genuine sensitivities of those who work in the film industry and, like them, are concerned about what the unknown implications are for the livelihoods of many,” they said in an official statement. Contudo, they emphasized the indispensability of AI to carry out their project. “But the reality is that this film would never have been made if it weren’t for the AI capabilities we were able to develop.”
