During the Nintendo Direct held this Tuesday (9), Nintendo revealed the exact release date ofFire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, the new tactical RPG in the series. The game arrives on Nintendo Switch 2 on September 17, 2026.

Set in the Dagdan Empire, the story revolves around the Heroic Games, a great gladiatorial tournament in which the winner is granted any wish. The plot follows four main warriors — Cai, Dietrich, Theodora and Leda —, with branching narratives that intertwine according to the player’s choices.

The title maintains the classic formula of the franchise, with turn-based combat that mixes strategy, positioning, swords, magic and recruiting allies. The reveal video shows moments of exploration between tournaments and intense battles inside the arena.

First main entry in the series on Switch 2

Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weaveis the 18th main game in the franchise and marks the debut of a new numbered game on the Nintendo Switch 2 console. After the success ofThree Houses e Engage, which expanded the series’ audience with more accessible mechanics and deep stories, the new chapter arrives at a strategic moment for Nintendo, reinforcing the catalog of first-party releases for the new hardware.

The setting on the continent of Dagda, already mentioned in previous games asThree Houses, creates connections with the franchise’s larger universe and should please fans who follow the lore.

Dagdan Collection brings bonus items

Along with the date, the “Dagdan Collection” was announced, a deluxe edition with additional content, including collectibles, steelbook and art book. Full pricing and content details have not yet been released, but special editions tend to sell out quickly in the series.

The launch in September positions the game as one of the big titles of the second half of 2026 on the Switch 2, a period in which the console should be consolidated in the market.
