Unlike what was previously projected for 2026, the update of NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 50 SUPER graphics cards should be postponed until CES 2027. The information comes from the international website BenchLife.

The new models must adopt 3GB GDDR7 memory chips. This change would allow increasing the total VRAM capacity without modifying the width of the memory bus.

Among the expected configurations are a hypothetical RTX 5080 SUPER with 24 GB, an RTX 5070 Ti SUPER with 24 GB and an RTX 5070 SUPER with 18 GB. There is also a possible RTX 5060 model with 12 GB.

The BenchLife website, which had recently released rumors about the 12 GB GeForce RTX 5060, added this extra detail in the most recent publication.

No official confirmation from NVIDIA regarding the schedule for the RTX 50 SUPER line

There is no confirmed information regarding an updated NVIDIA timeline for the series. According to what the MEGAsizeGPU profile also indicated, there is no official calendar defined for the refresh of the RTX 50 SUPER line.

BenchLife’s projection for CES 2027 is based on industry conversations, likely with graphics card partners.

The website’s own evaluation points out that the GeForce RTX 50 Super series cards equipped with 3 GB GDDR7 chips should debut at the beginning of 2027, that is, at CES 2027.

2026 could be a year without major launches for desktop GPUs

NVIDIA has not confirmed any new GeForce RTX 50 SUPER cards. The company also did not address new PC models during Computex 2026, when the focus of public communication was on artificial intelligence hardware and the RTX Spark.

This schedule would position the refresh of the RTX 50 SUPER line before the next full generation of GPUs. Such a move could align with NVIDIA’s current strategy in the gaming segment.

A recent report, based on comments from AMD partners at Computex, suggested that RDNA 5 cards could arrive between the second and third quarter of 2027. Another partner assessed late 2027 or early 2028 as more likely.

Longer cycles for AMD and NVIDIA open space for renewal of the 50 SUPER line

If the RDNA 5 architecture really takes so long to arrive, NVIDIA will have considerable slack to launch the renewal of the RTX 50 SUPER line. This may be longer than many GPU enthusiasts would like, as competition is often welcome.

The current year does not appear to be especially exciting for this audience. Even so, the expectation is that the 50 SUPER line schedule will undergo adjustments.
