Brazilian singer Anitta shares the stage with Lisa, from Blackpink, and Rema at the opening ceremony of the 2026 World Cup in the United States, this Friday (12), at SoFi Stadium, in Los Angeles. The trio performs the songGoals, official single of the tournament that mixes Latin pop, K-pop and afrobeats.
The 2026 World Cup, which officially begins this Thursday (11), marks the first edition hosted by three countries — the United States, Mexico and Canada — and also the first with three distinct opening ceremonies, one in each host nation. This structure expands the scope of the event and celebrates the cultural identities of the host countries.
Ceremony in Mexico opens the tournament
The first ceremony took place this Thursday at the Azteca Stadium, in Mexico City, which becomes the first stadium to host three opening World Cups (1970, 1986 and 2026). Among the attractions were Alejandro Fernández, Belinda, J Balvin, Maná, Shakira and Burna Boy, who performed the official song of the tournament.
Anitta’s show in Los Angeles
At SoFi Stadium, the event begins about 90 minutes before the opening game in the US between the United States and Paraguay. In addition to Anitta, Lisa and Rema, the line-up includes Katy Perry, Future and Tyla. The production is in charge of the Italian Marco Balich, the same person responsible for the opening ceremony of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games.
The show lasts approximately 13 minutes, with choreography, fireworks and an estimated audience of 70 thousand people.Goalsdebut live in this presentation, after the release of the music video that is already circulating on the networks.
Ceremony in Canada
In Toronto, the opening takes place earlier, at 2:30 pm (Brasília time), before the clash between Canada and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Alanis Morissette and Michael Bublé are the confirmed main attractions, with other local names such as Alessia Cara and Jessie Reyez.
Shakira at halftime of the final
Shakira also participates in the halftime show of the World Cup final, alongside Madonna and the South Korean band BTS, in a format inspired by the Super Bowl. The Colombian has already performed at the opening ceremony in Mexico this Thursday.
The presence of artists from different continents reinforces the global nature of the tournament, which brings together 48 teams in 16 cities. For Anitta, the performance represents another milestone in her international career, after successes in global partnerships and shows on major stages.
