Verizon has published support documents that reveal the imminent arrival of Wear OS 7 for three recent generations of Pixel Watch. Models 2, 3 and 4 should receive the update in June 2026, along with the month’s security patch. The information appeared on the American operator’s changelog pages and indicates that the rollout may begin sooner than expected after the announcement made at Google I/O.
The update takes software version CP2A.260603.001 and promises performance and stability improvements in addition to new system features. Owners of these watches will notice practical changes in their daily lives. The system replaces the old Tiles with more flexible Wear Widgets, allows Live Updates to track deliveries, track races or scores in real time and integrates automation features with Gemini Intelligence.
Support for the original model is in doubt once again
The first generation Pixel Watch, released in 2022, does not appear on Verizon’s list. The device also did not previously receive Wear OS 6, reinforcing a pattern of limited support for the initial hardware. This represents a point of attention for those who invested early in the line, especially as software longevity has become an important selling point in the smartwatch market.
Main new features coming with Wear OS 7
In addition to dynamic widgets, Live Updates brings persistent information directly to your wrist, similar to what already exists on Android cell phones. The media controls are refined, with automatic launch options via app and a remote audio output selector. Google also mentions gains of up to 10% in battery life on devices that migrate from Wear OS 6 to 7, thanks to power optimizations.
Integration with Gemini allows task automations to be triggered directly from the watch. For those using the Pixel ecosystem, the combination with the cell phone should deliver a more fluid and intelligent experience. There is still no exact global rollout date defined by Google, but Verizon’s publication accelerates expectations for this month.
What changes in practice for users
For owners of compatible models, the update represents a significant leap in usability without the need to change the device. Those who have the Pixel Watch 2, for example, gain features that previously required newer hardware. For those who still use the original model, the scenario reinforces the importance of checking support cycles before purchasing. The trend in the industry is for manufacturers to extend support for longer, but the Pixel Watch line shows that not all devices are keeping pace.
The update should arrive gradually, possibly starting with Verizon users. Owners of other models can check the watch configurations soon to check availability.
