Brazilian users reported instability on Instagram this Friday morning (12). Many were unable to load their feed, Stories or access the web version at around 10:45 am, which led to immediate searches for “Instagram down”.
Downdetector, a website that monitors online service outages, captured a significant increase in reports against the Meta platform in Brazil. The most frequently cited problems involved the app, connection to the server and loading the feed.
Reports quickly spread across networks, with users also mentioning specific difficulties on Facebook. The coincidence with Valentine’s Day amplified the impact, as many access the platforms to exchange messages and publish content.
Meta has not yet officially commented on the failure. In similar cases in the past, the company’s instabilities were usually resolved within a few hours, without detailed disclosure of the causes.
What to do while the service does not return to normal
- Check internet connection and try switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data.
- Update the Instagram app from the official store.
- Use the web version via the browser (instagram.com) as a temporary alternative.
- Wait a few minutes and reload the page or application.
Experts recommend avoiding uninstalling and reinstalling the app immediately, as the problem appears to be concentrated on Meta’s servers.
