Pietro Fantin won his first victory in the Porsche Cup Brasil this Saturday (13). The driver, a newcomer to the 2026 Carrera Cup season, dominated Race 2 of the historic stage held on the La Sarthe circuit, in Le Mans, as a support event for the 24 Hours.
Fantin started on the reversed grid of the previous race, approached the leaders and took the lead with a decisive overtake before the Michelin chicane. After that, he managed the advantage until the checkered flag, under challenging tire temperature conditions and constant use of Boost.
Antonella Bassani, who started on pole, finished in second place, 1.723 seconds behind the winner. Miguel Paludo completed the podium in third, at 2.524. The race lasted 45 minutes plus one lap on the route of more than 13 km.
Test full of unforeseen events
The pilot highlighted the chaos of the dispute. “It was a crazy race, with a lot of things to remember, to manage… Slow zone for the first time, Boost was also at the limit. The tire was getting cold and hot all the time”, said Fantin shortly after the race.
With experience in formula categories at the beginning of his career, such as British F3 and Formula Renault, the 32-year-old driver showed quick adaptation to the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. In Race 1, he had already reached the podium in third place.
Milestone for Brazilian motorsport
The participation of the Porsche Cup Brasil in Le Mans was the first of a 100% national category in the event supporting the largest endurance race in the world. The weekend reinforces the competitive level of the series and projects Brazilian drivers onto a global stage.
With the result, Fantin added valuable points for the season. He is now looking to the next stage, in Portugal, to maintain the good momentum. “I already knew from Thursday that we had a car to win if everything went well. We just had to manage the Boosts well”, added the winner.
