On Tuesday, July 3, 2026, one of Forza Horizon 6’s most well-known glitches was finally fixed, ensuring that players’ progress will no longer be lost. Launched with great success and breaking records, the Playground Games title attracted almost 200,000 downloads on Steam during its Early Access, generating huge expectations among fans for its setting in Japan.

However, even with its popularity, the launch faced a serious problem: the loss of saved data. Players began reporting, a week after its debut, that all of their campaign progress was suddenly erased. Playground Games quickly recognized the error and began looking for a solution, initially offering stopgap methods to prevent corruption. A first patch only managed to reduce the chance of the problem occurring, but the definitive fix took longer to arrive.

The official Forza support account on Twitter has released a new update for Xbox Series X/S consoles, now available for download. The advisory states that the fix addresses “some of the known data loss scenarios in Forza Horizon 6.” A second change also contributes to significantly reducing the probability of complete loss. The official page confirms that if data loss occurs, a notification will appear when loading the game, allowing the player to use the Xbox cloud save to restore the latest version. Therefore, even though some loss of progress may still occur depending on the time of the save, the impact will be limited to a single session, and no longer to the entire game campaign.
