A new rumor gained strength on Tuesday, July 2, 2026, suggesting that “Grand Theft Auto 6” (GTA 6) could have a version for the future Nintendo Switch 2. Speculation suggests that the feat would be possible thanks to advanced technologies from Nvidia.

Insider Nash Weedle was responsible for presenting the arguments that support this possibility.

After mentioning the project for the first time in November 2025, Weedle declared, earlier this week, that the technical obstacles to adapting the game had been overcome.

New information was released by Nash in the most recent episode of his podcast, entitled “PARIDA ZERO EXPRESS”, which deepens the discussion on the topic.

Nash highlighted that Nvidia technologies are crucial to the viability of this version. He pointed to Nvidia’s custom System on a Chip (SoC) in the console, which has already demonstrated its capability by running current games like “Resident Evil Requiem” remarkably well.

Specifically for “GTA 6”, Nvidia’s DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) should significantly ease the load on the Graphics Processing Unit (GPU). Additionally, he cited the Rockstar Advanced Game Engine (RAGE) graphics engine.

RAGE’s scalability has already been proven in titles like “Red Dead Redemption”, which works well on both the original Switch and the upcoming Switch 2. However, Rockstar would have to make concessions regarding crowd density and the game’s base resolution. Although the game’s release does not coincide with that of the Nintendo Switch 2, the idea of a physical cartridge edition is considered quite interesting.
