There are just a few weeks left for players to enjoy valuable titles from the PlayStation Plus library. With the end of July, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced, through the PlayStation Store, which nine games will be removed from the Extra and Premium plans of the service next month. A considerable number of these games deserve to be played before they leave the catalogue.
The acclaimed Unicorn Overlord leaves the platform
Among the highlights is Unicorn Overlord, a tactical RPG game released by Atlus and developed by Vanillaware in 2024, which received great acclaim from specialized critics. It is ideal for enthusiasts of titles like Fire Emblem and Final Fantasy: Tactics, thanks to its complex systems and innovative battles. Although the narrative may not be its strongest point, the gameplay experience makes up for it. Unicorn Overlord was also a commercial success, becoming Vanillaware’s best-selling game in the shortest amount of time.

Harold Halibut: A Visually Unique Experience
Another title worth trying before leaving PlayStation Plus is Harold Halibut. This adventure game, also from 2024, gained notoriety before its release due to its hand-drawn stop-motion visuals, which contributed to a ten-year development period. The game’s universe has a charming peculiarity, and the story explores moving and meaningful themes. For those looking for a truly original gaming experience, this is the ideal option.
Dead Island 2 also says goodbye to the service
Dead Island 2 is also among the games that will leave PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium plans. While this zombie-hunting action RPG may have felt a little dated when it launched in 2023, there’s no denying the visceral pleasure of dispatching hordes of the undead without much fuss. While it’s still available in the PlayStation Plus catalogue, it’s worth dedicating about half an hour to Dead Island 2 to enjoy some simple, straightforward fun.
