The list of games that will arrive on Xbox Game Pass in 2027 is being drawn up, but the news of restructuring and sales of Microsoft studios adds a question mark over the inclusion of some long-awaited titles on the service.
A recent survey, compiled by Baiisun, offered an updated view of the main releases that, so far, have been announced to be available from day one on Game Pass.
Initially, Microsoft itself had confirmed names like Fable, Clockwork Revolution and State of Decay 3 among the games that would make their debut directly in the catalog. The Senua title was also explicitly promoted on the official Xbox website with the promise of a Game Pass release in 2027.
However, this clarity now comes with an important caveat, especially for two of these games.

Future of State of Decay 3 raises questions about launch on Game Pass
The situation involving State of Decay 3, the survival game developed by Undead Labs, is under analysis. The title had been officially announced for 2027 and listed by Xbox as a guaranteed release on Game Pass.
However, the scenario changed significantly with the news of the planned sale of Undead Labs, the studio responsible for developing the game.

Recent reports indicate that the new owner of Undead Labs would not be contractually obligated to release State of Decay 3 on Xbox Game Pass. This does not mean a cancellation of the promise, but it does indicate that Microsoft would need to separately negotiate or guarantee the game’s presence on the service.
To date, State of Decay 3 remains listed on the official Xbox page as a future Game Pass release.

Senua’s fate could also be impacted by studio sale
The game Senua faces a similarly complex situation. As part of its restructuring, Microsoft is also in the process of selling Ninja Theory, the title’s developer studio, to a new owner.
The crucial difference for Senua lies in a more emphatic official commitment. Xbox has confirmed 2027 as the release year and continues to promote the game as a Day One title on Game Pass.
The maintenance of this agreement after the change of ownership will depend on the specific terms of the sale and any new arrangements between Microsoft and the buyer, with contractual details not yet publicly confirmed.
