Arsenal have officially signed defender Ezri Konsa, who arrives as a new addition to the squad led by Mikel Arteta. The London club will pay 51 million pounds, the equivalent of 359 million reais, to Aston Villa for the England defender.
The player has already said goodbye to his Aston Villa colleagues on August 19, 2026 and is scheduled to undergo a medical at Arsenal on August 20. His arrival is seen as fundamental for the team, as he assumes a starting position due to the recent injuries to Saliba and Timber at the beginning of the season.
Konsa’s versatility is one of his main attributes, allowing him to play both as a central defender and as a right-back. The athlete had returned to training on August 17, 2026, after an extended vacation following the World Cup.
During the World Cup, Konsa demonstrated his ability by starting seven of England’s eight matches, only being on the bench in the semi-final against Argentina.
