Google scheduled the official pre-order launch of its new Googlebook laptop lineup for September 21, 2026, following the initial introduction of the hardware category at The Android Show I/O Edition in May 2026, after multiple technical leaks revealed application interfaces and hardware specifications for the upcoming computer series. Hardware reservations will open soon.

A promotional preview published by Google confirmed that buyers can reserve units on September 21, 2026, while displaying a distinctive integrated light bar planned for the chassis of every model.

The initial hardware release relies on manufacturing partners Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, and Lenovo to produce premium portable computers. Unlike traditional Chromebook models running ChromeOS, the devices operate directly on Google’s Android software architecture. The technology giant has not announced the formal commercial title for the platform, which industry reports associate with the internal Aluminium OS development project.

Delivery schedules remain undisclosed. Google did not specify when finished units will reach retail distribution or customer doorsteps once reservations begin on September 21, 2026.
