Smartphone makers Vivo and iQOO opened registration slots in India for users of the Vivo X300 Pro and iQOO 15 to test the upcoming OriginOS 7 skin built on Android 17. The initiative lets a selected group examine the interface before the general public release.

The OriginOS Global account on X confirmed that OriginOS 7 launches globally on September 21.

Global release schedule and participant limits

Both companies capped participation at 500 users per device model in India. Vivo India and iQOO India announced the test runs through their official accounts to gather feedback ahead of the wider deployment. The rollout delivers early builds of Android 17 to these two flagship products.

Deadlines set for early registration

Registrations for the iQOO 15 close on September 20. Vivo expects to accept applications for the Vivo X300 Pro until September 20 as well.

Steps to sign up through system settings

Users must submit their applications directly through the software settings interface on their Vivo X300 Pro or iQOO 15.

  • Open the Settings application and tap System Update.
  • Select the three-dot menu at the top-right section of the screen.
  • Tap Upcoming Updates from the available options.
  • Choose Closed Beta Sign-Up to load the registration page.
  • Click View Details to read the preview conditions.
  • Fill out the form with the requested phone information and submit it.

Baseline firmware and preview rollout

The preview programme gives selected phone owners in India advance access to the Android 17-based interface prior to the official release, allowing early testers to assess the newly redesigned software directly on their hardware ahead of the broader public deployment. Registrations require the latest firmware.

Both the Vivo X300 Pro and the iQOO 15 originally arrived on the market with Android 16-based OriginOS 6.
