Sony Interactive Entertainment announced on Tuesday, October 15, 2025, the additions to the PlayStation Plus catalog for the month. Subscribers of the Extra and Premium plans will gain access to eight new games starting October 21. Highlights include remakes of classic horror titles and RPG experiences.
The announcement follows the success of recent PlayStation 5 exclusives. Ghost of Yōtei, the sequel to Ghost of Tsushima, achieved an 87 rating on Metacritic and sold over 2 million copies in its first week. Developed by Sucker Punch Productions, the game is set in 17th-century rural Japan, following a mercenary’s quest for vengeance.
The free game lineup emphasizes varied experiences for the Halloween season. Titles are available at no additional cost for active subscribers. Availability lasts as long as the subscription remains active.
Horror remakes lead the additions
Silent Hill 2, a remake of the 2001 classic by Bloober Team, joins the Extra catalog. The game features 4K resolution, updated mechanics, and a psychological narrative about James Sunderland searching for his wife in a foggy town.

These remakes cater to demand for refreshed survival horror experiences. Silent Hill 2 has been praised for preserving its original atmosphere while modernizing controls.
