Dotemu and Tribute Games announced Marvel Cosmic Invasion will launch on December 1st, 2025 across PC and consoles. The beat ‘em up pits Marvel heroes against Annihilus’ Annihilation Wave. A new trailer revealed the final two playable characters: Iron Man and Phoenix, completing a 15-hero roster.

The game arrives on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Switch 2. Action spans New York streets and the Negative Zone with tag-team hero switching mechanics.

Complete playable heroes roster

The game features 15 selectable characters for duo-based cooperative combat. Each hero offers distinct fighting styles adapted to beat ‘em up gameplay.

  • Nova: Centurion with flight and energy blasts
  • Spider-Man: Web-slinging crowd control and agility
  • Wolverine: Close-range claw attacks and regeneration
  • Phyla-Vell: Quantum energy-based cosmic powers
  • Captain America: Shield throws for ranged defense

These characters were revealed progressively since the March 2025 announcement. A demo available since October lets players test nine heroes in early levels.

Additional roster members include She-Hulk, Rocket Raccoon, Venom, Storm, Black Panther, Beta Ray Bill, Cosmic Ghost Rider, and Silver Surfer. The mix balances Earth-based icons with cosmic entities for tactical variety.

Combat mechanics and game modes

Combat follows classic beat ‘em up controls with simple inputs. Players switch between two selected heroes anytime, enabling dynamic combos against enemy waves.

Co-op supports up to four players locally or online with crossplay. This mirrors Tribute Games’ previous title, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge.

Levels range from urban environments to space dimensions, with bosses like Annihilus requiring team coordination. A solo campaign averages six hours, boosted by roster replayability.

Iron Man and Phoenix trailer breakdown

Iron Man deploys repulsors and unibeam attacks from his armor. Phoenix channels telekinesis and psychic blasts via the Phoenix Force for area damage.

The launch trailer from October 22nd, 2025 showcases high-speed action sequences. These additions provide aerial mobility and devastating power to the roster.

Pixel art animations honor Jack Kirby’s classic designs with vibrant colors. This approach contrasts MCU’s realistic proportions.

Confirmed platforms and pricing

All platforms receive simultaneous launch without exclusives. Digital versions price at $29.99 across Steam, PlayStation Store, and Nintendo eShop.

Demo availability and launch prep

A free demo launched October 1st, 2025 featuring early New York levels with nine heroes. It introduces core mechanics against Annihilus minions.

Tribute Games prioritizes accessibility with adjustable difficulty options. Post-launch updates plan cosmic content expansions, details pending.

The title arrives amid a beat ‘em up revival, appealing to retro gaming fans. Marvel Cosmic Invasion expands the publisher’s licensed Marvel portfolio.
