GWM launched the Ora 05, the first electric SUV from the Ora sub-brand, on the Chinese market this week. With 204 hp and robust design, the model aims to compete with BYD Yuan Plus and Geely EX5. Arrival in Brazil, where the brand already sells the Ora 03, is considered likely. The vehicle combines advanced technology and greater interior space, standing out in the compact SUV segment.
The Ora 05 measures 4.47 meters long, 1.83 m wide and has a wheelbase of 2.72 m. Its look maintains features of the “cat family”, with circular headlights and a closed grille. The minimalist rear features horizontal lights and an integrated spoiler.

Design and dimensions

Embedded technology
The SUV features the Coffee Pilot Ultra system, with LiDAR sensor, cameras and radars. The NOA feature allows autonomous navigation on urban roads and highways.
The interior includes a multimedia center with third-generation Coffee OS and Coffee GPT voice assistant. There is also a 1.65 m² panoramic roof and ambient lighting with 64 colors.
The fabric-covered panel increases internal comfort. Technological integration reinforces the model’s competitiveness in the segment.
Motorization and performance
The Ora 05 is equipped with a 204 hp electric motor, powered by SVOLT LFP batteries. The exact capacity was not disclosed, but the reference is the Lightning Cat sedan, with 63.9 kWh and 83.5 kWh options.
The range varies between 555 km and 705 km in the CLTC cycle, suitable for long journeys. The model competes directly with electric SUVs like the BYD Yuan Plus.
