Babal Guimarães, a digital influencer known online as Emanuel Francisco of Santos Júnior, was arrested this Wednesday (10) in Maceió by The arrest occurred in compliance with a warrant issued by the 16th Vara Criminal of Capital after security camera images recorded physical aggression against his girlfriend, the model Karla Lessa. The case took place on November 28th in the outdoor area of a condominium in the capital of Alagoas.
The images, released on the 4th, show the influencer pulling the victim’s hair, taking an object from her hands, throwing the item at her and slapping her while preventing her from leaving the place. The arrest represents regime regression, as Babal was serving an open prison sentence for a previous conviction of domestic violence.
The judicial decision was taken on Tuesday (9), when the judge accepted the request of Ministério Público of Alagoas to convert the open regime into a closed one in the face of recidivism.

Images that led to the arrest
The condominium’s security cameras captured the entire sequence of the attack that occurred on November 28th. Nas recordings, Babal appears arguing with Karla Lessa outside the building.
Then, the influencer strongly pulls the model’s hair, takes an object (identified as a cell phone) from her hands and throws it towards her. Karla tries to move away, but is stopped by the attacker, who slaps the victim in the face.
The images were delivered to Polícia Civil and served as material evidence for the request for regime regression.
The corpus delicti report confirmed minor injuries, but sufficient to characterize domestic violence.
Position of Ministério Público
Prosecutor Wesley Fernandes classified the conduct as serious and incompatible with the open regime previously granted. In a statement, he highlighted that the defendant shows total indifference to the woman’s condition and disrespects court decisions.
The regression was based on recidivism and the concrete risk to the physical integrity of the current victim. The MP also requested the maintenance of preventive detention until further evaluation of the case.
Previous conviction history
Babal Guimarães had already been convicted by Tribunal of Justiça of The sentence, set at between 1 year and 4 years, was being served in an open regime since 2024.
Progression to the open regime had been granted based on previous good prison behavior. However, the new episode demonstrated non-compliance with the conditions imposed by Justiça.
The previous sentence also included urgent protective measures in favor of Emily Garcia, which remain in force.
Victim’s reaction after disclosure
Karla Lessa used social media to vent after the images were released. The model confirmed the relationship with the influencer and reported fear of further aggression.
Friends close to the victim say she received immediate psychological and legal support. Medidas urgent protections were granted by Justiça in favor of Karla on the same day of the arrest.
Current progress of the process
With the prison sentence completed, Babal Guimarães will undergo a custody hearing this Wednesday at Maceió. The defense has not been located for demonstration so far.
The police investigation into the new aggression remains ongoing at Delegacia of Crimes against Mulher. Ministério Público must file a formal complaint in the coming days.
Justiça from Alagoas has maintained electronic monitoring of the influencer since the previous conviction, which facilitated compliance with the warrant.
